SOUTH AFRICA
Situated right at the tip of the most magnificent, most mysterious, wildest and most ancient of
continents, South Africa is a land of spectacular contrasts, both physically and socially. It’s here
you’ll find the world’s oldest rocks, the world’s oldest fossils, and the world’s newest democracy.
Nelson Mandela, former president of the Republic of South Africa has been quoted as saying,
“Southern Africa is the most beautiful place on earth. Admittedly I am biased,
but when you combine the natural beauty of sunny South Africa with the friendliness and cultural
diversity of our people, and the fact that the region is a haven for Africa’s most splendid wildlife,
then I think even the most scrupulous critic would agree that we have been blessed with a truly
wonderful land.”
