         MODEL AGREEMENT BETWEEN UK HOST INSTITUTIONS
         AND EU MARIE CURIE RESEARCH FELLOWS.

This agreement for the conduct of a Marie Curie Fellowship funded by the European
Commission under the (name of EU Programme) is drawn up between the (host
institution) (“the Host Institution”) and (the Fellow) (“the Fellow”).

The Host Institution has concluded a contract (“the EC Contract”) with the above
contract number (attached as Annex A) with the European Commission to provide
training to the Fellow named above and it is agreed that the Project will be carried out by
the parties in accordance with that contract. This agreement confirms that the Fellow has
been advised of the terms and conditions of the contract and that the Host Institution and
the Fellow agree to them.

1.     The Fellow will receive, from (date) to (date), a gross monthly amount of
       .....Euros, which includes a monthly mobility allowance of .....Euros. Payment
       will be made in Euros, monthly in arrears, to a UK bank account nominated in the
       EC Contract. As the Fellow will be classified as a “Visiting Fellow/Employee”,
       this amount will be reduced to cover employer’s National Insurance contributions
       and will be subject to deductions at source for income tax and employee’s
       National Insurance contributions. The amount of the deductions may be subject to
       variations as a result of changes to UK legislation.

2.     The Fellow will also receive a one-off flat-rate travel allowance of ..... Euros, in
       respect of return travelling expenses between the Fellow’s home country and the
       Host Institution. This amount will be paid with the first monthly payment.

3.     The Fellow shall devote herself/himself fully to the research work which is the
       subject of the Project, under the supervision of (supervisor).

4.     The Fellow will be bound by the terms, conditions and regulations of the Host
       Institution [as outlined in Annex B of this Agreement].

5.     The Fellow will be solely responsible for ensuring fulfilment of her/his
       obligations under UK law.

6.     The Fellow must inform the Host Institution as soon as it is reasonably practicable
       of any matter relevant to the fulfilment of her/his obligation under the contract,
      such as any event likely to prevent the project from being properly implemented
      or properly completed, any modification relating to the information which served
      as a basis for the award of the Fellowship, or a pregnancy that may directly affect
      the implementation of the Project in the context of the contract (in this case the
      agreement includes an obligation on the Fellow to request, at the same time, from
      the Host Institution a suspension of the implementation of the Project or to inform
      the Host Institution that she does not wish such a suspension).

7.    The Fellow will comply with the specific requirements of the EC Contract
      relating to progress reports (Article 5 of Annex 2 of the EC Contract) and will
      produce an annual report on the progress in implementing the project after each
      twelve month period and a final report within two months of the end of the
      Fellowship.

8.    The Host Institution will cover the expenditure for publication of the research
      results and for attendance at conferences or other scientific events by the Fellow
      where the supervisor deems such attendance necessary or useful for the successful
      implementation of the Project.

9.    Both the Host Institution and the Fellow will comply with all UK and Community
      provisions and international agreements concerning intellectual property rights
      and patents. Signature, by the Fellow, of this agreement acknowledges the
      ownership by the Host Institution of any intellectual property arising out of this
      project.

10.   This agreement may be terminated if the either the Host Institution or the Fellow
      fail to comply with the obligations in the contract and may be terminated
      following the procedure in Article 8 of Annex II of the General Conditions of the
      EC Contract (Annex A of this agreement).
