					                 Wenlock Poetry Festival
The Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, has kindly agreed to judge the
poems and she will be assisted by a panel of judges comprising :

Anna Dreda:       Artistic Director of the Wenlock Poetry Festival.                     WENLOCK POETRY
Liz Roberts:     Chair of the Wenlock Poetry Festival.
Paul Evans:       A lecturer at Bath Spa University, a nature writer and           29th & 30th APRIL & 1st MAY 2011
broadcaster. He is The Guardian country diarist for Wenlock Edge.

The prizes will be awarded during the Festival by Carol Ann Duffy                  Poetry

The Festival will be held in Much Wenlock, Shropshire from 29th April
to 1st May 2011. Entry forms for the poetry competition and up to date

COMPETITION RULES                                                                                                                                                    Poetry Competition 2011
   Open to anyone over the age of 17.
                                                                                                                                                                           Entry Form
   Poems may be on any subject and must be the original work of the poet.                                                                             First Name
   Poems must be titled and should not exceed 40 lines, excluding title.
   Up to 5 poems may be submitted by each entrant.
   Closing date is midnight on 21st February 2011.
   Entries must be written in English.
   Entries must not have been published, self published, published on the internet or                                                                 Address
   broadcast in any medium before 2nd May 2011.
   Poems should be typed on one side of white A4 paper, double or single spaced. It

   must show only the title and the poem as all poems are judged anonymously.
   Please do not staple printed entries.
   The poet’s name, address and telephone number and the titles of the entries must
   be clearly entered on the entry form.
   No correspondence can be entered into and the decisions of the judges are final.                                                                   Tel.No.

   To receive confirmation of receipt please enclose a stamped addressed envelope
   marked ‘Receipt’.
   No member or director of Wenlock Poetry Festival Limited or any member of

   any committee of the Festival may submit a poem.

   Entry fee is £5 per poem entered and payment must be enclosed with the entry
   Payment must be in £ sterling and only cash, cheques or UK postal orders can be
   accepted. Credit cards cannot be accepted. Cheques should be made payable to:
   ‘Wenlock Poetry Festival’.

   The results and commendations will be announced during the Festival.                                                                          Total payment enclosed:
   Winners will be notified in advance and invited to attend an award ceremony
   during the Festival.
   The Wenlock Poetry Festival reserves the right to publish winning entries on the                                                                                              Post to:
   internet during the Festival and for up to one year from the date of the                                                                                                 Poetry Competition
   prizegiving, and they may be read out and/or posted on radio or T.V. during the                                                                                            Curlew’s Cry
   Festival and in other local media at any time, all without payment of a fee or                                                                                                 Kenley
