Waddesdon	Manor	Emergency Services Day
                                                       Waddesdon	Manor	was	built	at	the	end	of	the	
                                                       19th	Century	(1874-89)	by	Baron	Ferdinand	de	
                                                       Rothschild	in	the	style	of	a	French	early	16th	
                                                       century	château.	It	provided	an	impressive	
                                                       backdrop	for	the	free	family	event.	Visitors	had	
                                                       the	opportunity	to	examine	an	ambulance,	
                                                       climb	aboard	a	fire	engine,	take	a	closer	look	
                                                       at	a	police	car	and,	learn	more	about	their	local	
                                                       community	and	the	many	people	who	help	it.

A	fond	farewell	to	Julie
                                                         Friends	and	colleagues	gathered	in	Wokingham	on	28	
                                                         September	to	formally	wish	a	fond	farewell	to	Compliments	
                                                         and	Complaints	Manager	Julie	Goddard	who	retired	in	June.	
                                                         Being	a	modest	lady,	it	took	a	little	while	to	persuade	Julie	to	
                                                         let	us	celebrate	her	contribution	to	SCAS,	and	when	we	were	
                                                         successful,	we	had	to	fit	into	her	new	and	exceeding	full	life	
                                                         of	arts,	gardening,	redecorating	and	travel.
                                                         Before	SCAS,	Julie	worked	for	the	Royal	Berkshire	
                                                         Ambulance	Trust	for	10	years,	starting	in	the	finance	
                                                         department	and	moving	to	manage	compliments	and	
                                                         complaints	for	the	Trust.	
                                                         Julie	has	worked	in	the	NHS	for	33	years	and	her	wealth	of	
                                                         experience,	generosity	and	good	humour	will	be	missed	by	
                                                         her	colleagues.	Julie	says	that	she	is	loving	retirement	and	
                                                         thoroughly	recommends	it.	We	all	wish	her	the	very	best	for	
                                                         the	future	and	happy	retirement.

The	results	gathered	from	this	monitoring	helps	us	in	identifying	the	health	need	and	patterns	
of	illness	among	all	ethnic	groups,	as	well	as	highlighting	any	gaps	in	service	provision	to	a	
particular	community.
