                        TRANSMISSION JOB DESCRIPTIONS

                                      EXECUTIVE


Exec Director Electric Transmission, responsible for global electric transmission;
also responsible for UK regulation, communications,
safety/health/environmental/security and construction.

Senior VP & COO US Transmission, has primary responsibility for the overall
planning, operations and control of the transmission system.

VP Network Operations, responsible for the safe, reliable and effective operation of
National Grid’s Northeast Transmission System.

VP Regulation and Commercial, direct areas pertaining to regulation and industry
policy for National Grid’s US transmission business; coordination with federal and state
regulators, coordination on input into industry stakeholder processes, management of
US transmission contractual arrangements, responsible for National Grids internal
reliability compliance function.


VP Program Management, this position is responsible to manage, direct and
implement asset management investment strategy in order to fully achieve
Transmission and Electricity Distribution (T&D) budget, portfolio goals and strategic
objectives.

                          TRANSMISSION WORK DELIVERY

VP Project Management and Construction, responsible for design, and construction
of substations and transmission line assets, maintains transmission lines for the benefit
of the customers of National Grid in the US.

HVDC OPERATIONS
Director, responsible for Operations, Maintenance, Support participant account
management

Engineer, responsible for controls, protections and equipment for the HVDC converter
terminals (this includes Principal and Senior Engineer.)

Maintenance Technician, maintains the station equipment in the converter terminals
(this includes Senior Maintenance Technician.)

Manager HVDC Operations/Maintenance, responsible for managing the operations
and maintenance of the Sandy Pond and Monroe HVDC converter stations; represent
the service provider and manage the “service plan” between Interconnects & Business
Development in the U.K. and Transmission in the U.S.

Network Operators, responsible for the bulk power transfers between Hydro-Quebec
and New England. This person operates the HVDC terminals in both Quebec and New
England.

Planner, (this includes Comerford Planner), plan and prepare the maintenance
schedule, ensure necessary parts and equipment are available to complete the
maintenance work for the HVDC facilities.

Senior Control Room Technician HVDC, support PLM Programming Language
updates and modifications to microprocessor based control and protection equipment.

Director In House Construction, responsible for Internal Project Delivery
Support Conceptual & Prelim Eng Steps, SHESQ & Efficiency Performance
Management to Scope, Schedule, Budget & Quality and OHL Maintenance Delivery

Project Management, responsible to manage electric transmission line and substation
projects including new facilities, major additions, rehabilitation and retrofit
projects. PMs manage project teams to ensure projects are delivered in accordance
with approved Cost, Scope, and Schedule & Quality metrics, manage risk, and
Forecast spending, PM Playbook Process Owner.
Director Outsourced Construction, responsible to develop and implement
construction strategies and methodologies that maximize and ensure the safe and
efficient execution of the T&D substation capital and transmission line construction and
maintenance work plan in the US. Execution of these goals is achieved through
ongoing guidance, leadership, direction and clear communication of responsibilities
focused on contracted resources.
Director, Contract and Resource Mgmt., directs the administration of the commercial
agreements.
Commercial Mgr. (NY,) responsible for adherence to commercial terms & conditions
including validation of costing elements for NY agreement. The position is
responsible for the provision of commercial information and decision support (e.g.
budgets, business plans, quarterly forecasts, actuals, and variances). Working
closely with the category teams, the incumbent will ensure proper financial disciplines
in the management of spend and savings tracking.

Commercial Mgr. (NE,) responsible for adherence to commercial terms & conditions
including validation of costing elements for NE agreement. The position is
responsible for the provision of commercial information and decision support (e.g.
budgets, business plans, quarterly forecasts, actuals, and variances). Working
closely with the category teams, the incumbent will ensure proper financial disciplines

Manager Construction Management, lead the team of field experts to ensure on-site
activities of all externally delivered projects are done in accordance with the contractual
requirements.


                              PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Manager, Long Term Resource Plan, responsible for predicting resource
requirements and building out future year work plan to ensure efficiency in delivery of
multi-year budget, portfolio goals and strategic objectives.

Director, Estimating, responsible for providing accurate, timely estimates for major
Transmission and Distribution construction projects. Estimates include all aspects of
the project and program work including materials, engineering, permitting,
environmental, construction labor and equipment.

Manager, Transmission Line & Substation Current Plan, responsible for the
resourced work plan and work allocation to deliver Transmission and Substation in year
budget, portfolio goals and strategic objectives.

Manager, Program Controls, is responsible for the measurement of project
performance against agreed benchmarks in Cost Management, Schedule Analysis,
Variance Management, Invoicing, Reporting and other Project Control functions

Manager, Regulatory, responsible for ensuring delivery of portfolio goals associated
with the current year Electricity Operations regulatory strategies in each state for
Transmission, Sub-Transmission and Distribution Line and Substation.


                 TRANSMISSION COMMERCIAL AND REGULATORY

COMMERCIAL

Director Transmission Commercial Services, direct all Transmission Commercial
transactional arrangements for US Transmission, including NE and NY ISO
transmission-related activity, transmission customer transactions, and connection
related transactions

Analyst, serves as contract and economic analyst to support regulatory contracts and
contract databases for over transactional documents that evidence the revenue stream
for the transmission business.

Engineer, key point of contact for transmission customers in all respects related to the
transmission services provided by National Grid and technical advisory role.

Account Manager, key point of contact for transmission customers in all respects
related to the transmission services provided by National Grid.

                     TRANSMISSION NETWORK OPERATIONS


TRANSMISSION CONTROL CENTER - NEW ENGLAND
Director Transmission Control NE, monitors, controls, and operates National Grid's
transmission system in New York State.

Manager - NE Control Center, responsible for day-to-day operation of the New
England control room - including schedules, personnel, and technical issues.

Lead Application Coordinator, coordinate outage applications for work on the New
England Transmission System and submit outage applications in accordance with
agreed guidelines; schedule appropriate personnel responsible for switching outage
applications; perform preliminary outage analysis to ensure overall system security can
be safely maintained.

Security Operator/Team Leaders, responsible for system security, authorization of
outages, and overall operation of the New England transmission system. Also
responsible for REMVEC Satellite system security. Directs response to system
emergencies.

System Control Center Operators, monitors, assesses and responds to all alarms.
Responsible for all switching and tagging functions & coordination with field personnel.

Manager – NE Outage Management, responsible for day-to-day operation of the New
England Outage planning and coordination group.

Lead / Outage Coordinators, responsible for day-to-day operation of the Outage
Coordination, the analysis of proposed electric system outages for voltage, thermal,
reliability, and coordination constraints and issues on the NE Transmission.


TRANSMICCION CONTROL CENTER - NEW YORK
Director - Transmission Control NY, monitors, controls, and operates National Grid's
transmission system in New York State.

Manager NY Control Center, responsible for day-to-day operation of the New York
control room, including schedules, personnel, and technical issues.

Lead Application Coordinator, coordinate outage applications for work on the Upstate
New York Transmission System and submit outage applications in accordance with

Lead Engineer, perform system studies, maintain EMS security software, provide
control room technical support, contribute to development & review of operating criteria
& policies, and provide input to the NYISO on the resolution of operating problems.

Regional Operators, monitors, assesses and responds to all alarms. Responsible for

Security Operators / Team Leader, responsible for system security, authorization of

Manager – NY Outage Management, responsible for day-to-day operation of the New
York Outage planning and coordination group.

Lead / outage Coordinator, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Outage
Coordination, the analysis of proposed electric system outages for voltage, thermal,
reliability, and coordination constraints and issues on the NY Transmission.

         TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION – TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Manager, Training and Development, responsible for developing and delivering all
training programs for the T&D operators and establishing simulator scenarios for
operators and support personnel in New England and New York.

Principal / Lead Training Representatives, develops and delivers training programs
and simulator scenarios for operators and support personnel in New England and New
York.

Project Manager (EMS Project), directs the development, implementation, and
evaluation of the design; construction and testing in order to ensure completion of EMS
project as efficiently and effectively as possible. Manage the specification, delivery,
installation, test, and training of the T&D EMS project in the NY and NE region. Familiar
with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures; leads and directs the
work of others.


                      DISTRIBUTION NETWORK OPERATIONS


Director System Operations, responsible for the safe, reliable and effective operation
of National grid’s Upstate New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island Distribution
Systems.

            NEW ENGLAND DISTRIBUTION DISPATCH AND CONTROL


Associate Operator, prioritizes and Dispatches trouble orders of all emergency and
outage orders on the Distribution System.

Coordinator System Control Center, provides work application coordination to the
distribution control centers in the New England Region. This organization monitors and
directs switching activities and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure
reliable service to the substations and sub-transmission and distribution systems below
69kV.

Manager, Distribution Dispatch, provides manager level oversight to the control
center for the New England Region. Monitors direct switching activities and dispatches
field resources as necessary to assure reliable service to the <69KV subtransmission
and substations.

Shift Supervisor Control Room, provides supervision/leadership of daily shift
operations of the Dispatch & Control organization.

Lead Supervisor, provides supervisor level oversight to the Distribution Control Center
in the New England Region. This organization monitors and directs switching activities
and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable service to the
substations and sub-transmission and distribution systems below 69kV, within the NG
USA (New England) electrical network.


System Control Center Operators, Distribution Dispatch and Control NE, monitors
and directs switching for the safe and reliable operation of the substations and sub-
transmission and distribution systems below 69kV in the New England Region, within
the NG USA (New England) electrical network.



              NEW YORK DISTRIBUTION DISPATCH AND CONTROL


Lead Supervisor, responsible for all activities including supervision of represented and
management personnel.

Manager Distribution Dispatch Project, provides guidance and direction to the staff of
the three NY Regional Control Centers and the System Dispatch group in the planning
and implementation of various projects involving new technologies and processes
directed toward the ongoing efficiency of these operations.

Manager Regional Control Center Central, provides manager level oversight for the
Central Regional Control Center (CRCC). This organization monitors, directs switching
activities and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable service to the
subtransmission and distribution systems serving the Central, Northern and Mohawk
Valley Regions of New York.

Manager Regional Control East, provides manager level oversight for the Eastern
Regional Control Center (ERCC). This organization monitors, directs switching
activities, and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable service to the
subtransmission and distribution systems serving the Capital and Northeastern Regions
of NY.

Manager Regional Control Western, provides manager level oversight for the
Western Regional Control Center (WRCC). This organization monitors, directs
switching activities and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable
service to the subtransmission and distribution systems serving the Frontier and
Western Regions of New York.

Regional Operator, under the general supervision to control, direct and monitor electric
substations, hydro-generating stations, transmission networks and distribution facilities
within a Regional Control Center’s jurisdiction including making load, voltage and
reactive adjustments using state of the art equipment.

Relief Operator, under general supervision to control, direct and monitor electric
substations, hydro-generating stations, transmission networks and distribution facilities
within a Regional Control Center’s jurisdiction including making load, voltage and
reactive adjustments using state of the art equipment.

Shift Supervisor Control Room, responsible for all activities on a shift, including
supervision of represented personnel, for the region. This organization monitors, directs
switching activities, and dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable
service to the transmission and distribution systems.

Outage Coordinator, provides work application coordination to the distribution control
centers in the New York Region. Monitors and directs switching activities and
dispatches field resources as necessary to assure reliable service to the substations
and sub-transmission and distribution systems below 69kV.


                        ENERGY PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT


Distributed Generation Services, manages the interconnection process of small
independent generators to LIPA’s grid.

Clerk, conducts clerical work to support the Manager-DRM Small Interconections

Power Asset Management, manages the interconnection process of large independent
generators to LIPA’s grid.

Senior Engineer

Principal Analysts/Senior Analysts, provide management support to the Director
Electric Supply and Distribution Generation in (1) the administration and procurement of
power supplies to fulfill National Grid’s provider of last resort service obligations, (2) the
completion of the divestiture of New England Power Company’s residual generation
interests, and (3) the representation of National Grid on various committees in the New
England Power Pool.


                                      Transmission
                                 LIPA System Operations



Director of System Operations, responsible for the overall operations of the electric
transmission and distribution system, and substation system.

Manager of System Operations – Transmission, responsible for the overall operation
of the electric transmission system.

Manager of Operating Engineering, responsible for the overall engineering, technical
and scheduling support of the Energy Control Center.

Operating Engineers, responsible for the engineering and technical support of the
Energy Control Center. Schedules and commits all day-ahead to month-ahead
generation and power imports. Coordinates and schedules all non-emergency
transmission and substation clearances. Responsible for the implementation and
operation of the Dispatcher Training Simulator.

Chief System Operator of Dispatch Operations, responsible for the overall operation
of the Energy Control Center. Participates on NYISO committees to ensure that policies
and procedures comply with reliability requirements.

Senior System Operators, directs the Energy Control Center on a daily basis by
supervising Power Dispatchers/Interchange Coordinators and District Operators.

System Operators, supervises and directs the safe, economic and reliable operation of
the electric generation, substation and transmission system. Primarily responsible for
generation control, and providing adequate and dependable power supply to the
distribution system, transmission customers and interconnected utilities.
