Sagent provides merger and acquisition and other strategic financial advisory services to premier
corporate and financial sponsor clients. We are looking for Analysts who love the excitement and
challenges associated with mergers and acquisitions and are seeking to work at a firm where people
support one another, quality and hard work are rewarded, integrity matters and fun is an essential
part of the job.
Founded in 2003, Sagent is led by the former co-head of the Mergers and Acquisitions Department
at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette along with Managing Directors with experience at such firms as
Bear Stearns, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and UBS. In 2007, Daiwa Securities SMBC,
one of Japan’s foremost investment banks, formed a business alliance with Sagent, thus broadening
our global coverage. Sagent now has over 70 investment bankers in its New York, Charlotte,
Chicago, and San Francisco offices. With no lending, trading, research or private equity efforts,
Sagent is free from the structural conflicts inherent in multi-product investment banks. Sagent
delivers Pure Advice based on experience, integrity and continuity of personnel.
A key element of Sagent’s success is our ability to recruit and retain superior individuals. We
believe that highly motivated, creative individuals will achieve their potential by working closely
with senior members of the firm and taking the responsibility of managing projects and client
relationships. In an environment that is free of the bureaucracy of a large financial institution,
Analysts at Sagent are involved in a wide array of work experiences and learning opportunities as
they deliver merger and acquisition advisory services to clients, which range from large public
companies to private equity firms to privately held middle market companies.
The advantages of being an Analyst at Sagent include working on transactions on lean project

work in different industries on diverse assignments with extensive involvement in many aspects of
transactions. Upon joining Sagent, Analysts will be expected to work on a broad range of
transactions, provide a broad range of analytical, financial modeling and research support to all
professionals within the firm, and assess the impact of a transaction on a client’s financial results.
