Getting Started
I already told you that this report is about the basic model of affiliate marketing. If you have no idea what that is then here is a little sentence that summarizes it: “Affiliate marketing is the selling of goods and services for a merchant other than you to make a commission based on specific type of actions for example a sale or getting someone to fill out a form.” So Let’s Begin The Real Deal. I would advise you to get a pen or pencil and make some notes as we go along. Before we jump the gun lets start off with $1000 per month. $1000 per month may seem like a lot if you are new of course but it is really not. Let’s do some investigation on this $1000 per month matter shall we? Here goes: On average there a 30 days in a month correct? I am not so sure but let’s use 30 as it sounds like a pretty nice number to go with. Forgive me if this is not close to your time line you just maybe have to up the numbers or lower them to suit you. But my month averages about 30 days. Cool? Ok so we have: One Month =~ 30 Days Let’s say we want to make $1000 per month $1000 per 30 days. So if we break down that a little we get 1000/4 = $250 per week.

So now you start to see some light. But we can break it down even further. $250 per week 250/7 = 35.7 = $36 per day. That’s it. A measly 36 dollars per day and you will be making $1000 per month. Then all you would need to do is duplicate the process over and over again to start making several thousands per month. SO tell me from the depths of you heart if you cannot do this. I do believe you can, But I am not even going to stress and increase my blood pressure about TAKING ACTION. As a matter of fact what does it mean to TAKE ACTION? Someone please tell me. I sincerely hope you know what it means to TAKE ACTION.
The Problem Is How Do You Make $36 Per Day Consistently?
Now is time to start having some real fun. In order to make thousands of dollars per month you must first have the mind set. Forget about the ‘ifs’ and the ‘what ifs’ and take it from me that you can make thousands per month from the internet. Walk with it, breathe it, whatever you have to do to get it in your head do it. Once your mind can perceive it then you can do it. Believe me. Now that you know and accept the fact that there are thousands of dollars to be made online, you need to know how you will get there right. But What Are You Going To Sell? Or Where Can You Find Something To Sell?
One of the easiest places to find something to sell or promote is Clickbank. So that is what we are going to work with. Clickbank is a large network with thousands of digital products to promote and the good thing about them is that there minimum commission for an affiliate is 50%. Once your earn the minimum payout they will send you a check every two weeks so there is no need to spend weeks waiting to get your commissions. (Note: Affiliates are the persons who will promote the goods or services for the merchant who is the owner of the goods or services. So in this case you are an affiliate.) You will first need to sign up with Clickbank so you can start promote products and get commissions.

Note When Choosing A Clickbank Nickname
Chose a nickname that no one will be able to relate to you. This is because you don’t want other marketers to know which products you are promoting. Also if a person is buying something and realize that there is a middleman in the process they may just abandon the offer.
Now that you have signed up with clickbank, it is time to select a product to promote. But before you can select a product you have to do some research to make sure the product you choose is worth while and not a waste of time. Remember our goal is to make thousands of dollars per month so it is very important that we choose products that will sell and allow us to achieve our goal.
This means we have to perform Proper Market Research and this involves:
Finding A Hungry crowd that has a problem that need to be solved and
Finding the ‘best’ product to solve the problem of that hungry crowd.

Note: Throughout this report the words “market” and “niche” are used interchangeably. A Niche refers to a defined group of people with a common need for a product or service. Here are the main things to look for when doing market research: • Longevity/ Life of the Market • Does The Market Spend Money • What are they spending Money On
That’s basically all there is to understanding marketing research. If you can master the above 3 points then you are well on your way to achieving your goal. I like to make everything as simple as possible and so I am going to break down each of the above steps for you. Longevity/ Life of the Market- This refers to how long a market will be around for. There are several different types of markets and their life time varies. I like to categorize the markets as follows: Short Term – Short Term: This means that the market has a short life span and it is made up of people with a short term problem. A good example of a short term – short term market would when there is a new product released. Take for example when the Nintendo 64 was released, the market was huge. At that time everyone wanted a Nintendo 64. But soon this need for a Nintendo 64 died out when the Playstation II came on the seen.

Short Term – Long Term: This type of market is a market that also has a short term problem. However, unlike the short term- short term market, the short termlong term market has a long life span. A perfect example of this market would be the health market. People want immediate relief for there health problem and as soon as there problem is solved they are gone. BUT there will always be more people looking to get rid of there health problems. An example would be persons with Acne. They find a solution to there problems and then they would not be interested in other products to get rid of acne. Long Term – Long Term: This is a market with a long lifespan and people with on going needs. Take for example the hobby market. People in the hobby market will always be looking for ways to improve there skills. A good example would be golfing. People will always be looking to perfect there golf swings, or they may be looking for a better brand of golf club etc. It is important to note that any of the above market can be worthwhile once the market is proven to spend money.
Does The Market Spend Money?
We can tell without even much thinking that some markets do spend money. For example take a look at the weight loss market. However for some markets we have to do some in-depth research to make sure we are on the right track.

Here goes…. Since we are targeting Clickbank, first we have to select some products and do some research on them to see if people are buying those products. So we are going to hop over to Clickbank Marketplace and choose 10 products that we may want to promote. Don’t worry we are going to narrow it down to one or two but we must start out broad until we find a product that fits all our criteria.
Product Selection
You can chose a product based on the following options:
Category - This is the type of markets available and what you want to look in Subcategory - Means sub category of the main category you select Keywords - You can enter a keyword or phrase in here to search for something specific Sort By - You have several options here where you can change how the results are sorted for example popularity, gravity or the $ amount earned per sale. Product Type -Standard Billing or Recurring Billing- Standard billing will be a 1off payment. Recurring billing is usually used for membership sites and you will get a cut every time the customer is re-billed

Language - Clickbank now supports Spanish products, so you can select (at the time of writing), English or Spanish products. Show - the number of results per page. This can be changed up to 50. See image below:
You will notice that underneath each of the products listed that there are some statistics in green that can be really helpful when choosing a product.

Here is what they mean:
$/sale - Average net amount earned per affiliate per sale. Note that this is the net earned per actual sale, and so it is affected by refunds, charge backs and so on. Always go for a minimum of $20 per sale. Anything lower is barely profitable and it will take almost the same amount of time to promote a higher cost product. If the product cost $50, and the commission is set at 50%, by right, you should be getting around $23 – 25 per sale. However, if $/sale shows that it is only $16 or lesser than the set commission, it is a signal that there are many refunds, hence the low figure. %/sale - Average percentage commission earned per affiliate per sale. Future $:” - in most cases this will refer to money from an ongoing subscription that a customer signs up for. This is also called “rebill revenue”. If there is no subscription, this amount will be zero. %ref’d – This gives an indication of the amount of affiliates that are promoting the product and making sales. A low number indicates that most of the sales are being made by the merchant. Grav – “Gravity” is a measure of the number of affiliates who have sold at least 1 product within the past 30 days. Not the exact number of affiliates though, a product with 50 – 100 for “grav” indicates that there are a handful of affiliates promoting the product but not competitive enough.

This is a positive sign that the product is in demand and it will be profitable for you. However, for certain niches like music, even a high grav of 200 can still be profitable since the demand is huge but most niches do not behave in this way. Point to Note: I have been asked if it is a good idea to promote products that has a pop up or email capture form. I would say it all depends on you. Most persons will tell you that the merchant can take that prospect and send them to a different sales page and if they eventually buy you won’t get the commission. On the other hand if the merchant is honest and the customer eventually buys they would have been cookied with your affiliate id and you would still get the commission. SO it depends on what you feel comfortable doing. I personally have promoted products with email capture form from the merchant and still got my commissions. However who knows if I lost some though lol.
Selecting Your Products
Now that you have some information about Clickbank, go ahead and browse the different categories and select 10 products that: Pays a minimum of $20- Anything lower may not be profitable for you. Remember our goal is to make up to $1000+ per month. So if we have one

product that pays $36 per sale that would be even better as we would only need to make one sale per day to make $1000+ per month!
Has a gravity between 30 and 200- anything less may not be worthwhile and anything higher can be too competitive. This not gospel but it is a guide I use to ensure that I select products with the highest profit potential. Has % referred higher than 60%. This tells that a number of affiliates are promoting the product and making sales. Has a professional sales page. Don’t over look this. If you really want to make $36 per day the product sales page has to convert. So read it and see if it convinces you to buy. Does it have great bullet points, does it have short testimonials that don’t bore the reader, and does it have added bonuses that add to the value of the main product? It makes no sense sending traffic to a sales page that doesn’t convert. Total waste of time and money
Has an affiliate section with complete marketing tools. Banners, images, articles or anything that will make your marketing efforts easier. The trick is to work smarter and not harder. (Note: this is not 100% necessary but it will give you a head start as the merchant would have already done some work for you.)

By now you should have a minimum of 10 products that fits all the criteria above. Now is time to narrow it down to the one that you think will be most profitable. Are persons spending money to advertise similar products?
Is the market that the product caters for spending money? You will need to type in a broad search term in Google related to the products that you chose. Note if there are any advertisers and the number of advertisers promoting similar products. If there are several advertisers then that is a good indication that they are making money from promoting the product or they just wanted to give Google some cash. I think it is the former though. For example if your market is the weight loss market you can type search for “how to lose weight” or “lose belly fat” or something of the sort. See below:

Note: Do Not click on their ads because if you do you are costing them money and you wouldn’t want someone to do that to you. Right click on their ads and click copy link location then paste that in your browser address bar so that you can have a look at their website. Make a note on how they are promoting the product. Are they: Direct linking to the merchant?
Are they using review style websites where they compare two or more products and suggesting the best one to the reader? (Conduit Method)
Are they using a template given by the merchant? Write down all of this information as you will need it later on when promoting your top product.
Are There Various Products That Caters To Your Markets?
Are there other similar products on Clickbank? If there are then it is also a good indication that there is money to be made from this market as several merchants want to get a piece of the pie. For example see image below:

Also check the gravity of the other products as well as the %referred. If they are high then you know definitely that the market can be worthwhile to enter because there are various products that are selling well. You just need to position yourself a little better than your competition.
Using Forums To Test Your Markets
Are there any forums related to your market? All you have to do is go to the search engines and type (your topic + forum) or (your topic “forum”). Find forums and take note of some of the questions that persons are asking. This will give you an idea if persons are having a problem and if your product can help them. For example (golf + forums or golf “forums”)

Using Yahoo Answers for Market Research
When most persons have problems they tend to go to Yahoo Answers to ask a question to see if someone will have the answers for them. So Go to Yahoo answers and search and see if there are persons asking any questions that are related to your market and product. You will also want to take note of some of these question as you will need them to formulate your presell page. (Yes this is how you are going to promote your product)

Using Ezine Articles for Market Research
Ezinearticles is no doubt one of the largest articles directories on the internet. It has over 100,000+ expert authors writing on every possible topic you can think of. So it is a good idea to hop over to Ezinearticles and visit the most appropriate category for your markets.
Look at the articles and the titles that persons are writing about. Visit their resource boxes (the link at the end of their articles) and visit their websites to see if there are several persons promoting your chosen products or similar products in your markets. Also scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the amount of views the articles get; this will tell you if there are a lot of persons reading articles on those topics. After performing the tasks above, you should now be able to narrow down your ten products to one.

Keyword Research
What Are Your Prospects Searching For?
You now know that there is money to be made in your selected market, but you need to also know how to get your website in front of your prospects. This means you need to know what terms people with problems, that your product caters, to are searching for. The good thing about this is that there are numerous tools on the market today that can help you to achieve this. These tools are known as keyword tools and they keep a track of most of the keyword phrases that people uses when they are looking for information on the search engines. They keyword tool that I use and recommend is Micro Niche Finder. It is very easy to use and also utilizes the Google database. Google is currently the largest search engine and thus will get the most searches per day so micro niche finder is the perfect keyword tool. However since this report is to make money without out of pocket expense we are going to use the free Google Keyword Tool Itself. (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal)

Step #1- The first thing you should do is type in a general term that is related to your market. For example let’s use the weight loss market. So you could start with “fat loss”.
Look for key phrases with 3 or more words.

Step #2- Copy all the key phrases with 3 or more words and save the to a notepad file.
Steps #3- Once you have done that paste all the keywords you copied back into the search box. Uncheck the ‘use synonyms’ box and then click ‘get ‘keyword ideas’.
Step #4- Next you will select ‘exact’ to get a list of the exact search terms that people are searching for.

You will notice that the search numbers have decreased drastically. The reason for this is because we are getting more and more targeted to our audience and these terms are the exact phrases that potential customers are searching for.
Step #5- In this step we are going to find out what the competitions for each of our keywords are like. So we are going to copy each of the key phrases one by one and search for them in quotation “” in Google. This will give us an idea of all the other websites that have optimized their websites for the selected keywords.
Note the number of websites returned. Now you are going to create a database of all your keywords and the exact searches and the number of competing websites.
Step #6- Open an excel document. Create 3 columns and label them keywords, exact searches and number of competing websites respectively. Repeat steps 5 and six above and record your results for all your keywords under each column in your excel document. (Note If you Have Micro Niche Finder this step will automatically be done for you.)
Step #7- Repeat step #1 to step #5 then record your result in the same excel document as in step #6.

Hint: in step #1 I started with the broad term “fat loss” now I can use “weight loss, lose weight, lose fat etc.”. There are literally hundreds of keywords for every niche you can think of. Using my example of the weight loss niche here is a glimpse of what I came up with:
And this is just from the broad term “fat loss”. Just imagine the potential and you thought the weight loss niche was “too saturated”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Step #8- This is the elimination step. We are going to get super targeted now. So go in your excel document and delete all the keywords that has more than 50,000 competing websites. Now you should have a list of some super targeted keywords that you can rank well in the search engines for. Cool eh

Step #9- Select the keyword with the highest amount of searches for your main keyword. The trick will be to get your presell page (discuss later) to rank for your main keywords while getting your articles to rank for the other low competition keywords phrases. So in that way you are getting maximum traffic form all angles to your presell page which leads to your merchant’s page. And that should = $$$$$ $$$ Get It?

Creating Your Website/ Presell Page For The Product You Selected.
This project is focused on using free methods to make money online. Therefore for this report I will not be talking about buying a domain name or web hosting. But I do recommend that after you receive your first check that you get yourself your own domain and web hosting to propel your income to higher heights. With that being said, we will be using the free blogger to set up your own little web space. So if you don’t already have a blogger account I suggest that you hop over to blogger.com and register a free account. Your pre-sell or landing page is going to be vital to your success of making money online. Can you imagine sending a ton load of traffic to your website and checking your account to see zerooooo sales? Don’t worry though I am going to walk you through setting up a good pre-sell page.

The Anatomy of a Good Presell
From doing your market research you would have found out that your prospects have a problem or desire that needs a solution. Correct? Now your pre-sell page is going to give them a snapshot of how to solve the problem and point them in the direction of how to get the full solution. (Your merchant’s page)
It is important to note that it is called “pre-sell” and not “selling” page. It is not your job to do the selling. Leave that to your merchant. Your job is to warm up the prospect so that they will be in a buying mood when they get to the merchant’s page.
Steps To Take When Writing Your Presell
•
Identify what are the problems that your prospects are having. For example let’s refer to the weight loss niche: A problem could be stubborn belly fat. A good way is to ask a question for example “Are You Struggling With Stubborn Belly Fat?”

Know exactly who you are targeting. If you are selling a weight loss product it would be much easier to target a specific group of people that want to lose weight rather than the general population. For example you could target mothers who want to get rid of belly fat or women who

want to lose weight for their wedding day etc. The more specific you are, the better your pre-sell page will convert.

Know the Product You Are Promoting As Best As Possible- Does the product solves the problem that your prospects are having? A good way to do this would be to buy a copy. However since we are going free all the way out, I suggest that you write the owner of the product a nice letter telling them that you would love to promote their product and you are requesting a review copy. 7 out of 10 times they will say yes others may simply not reply. If you do not get a copy then you can go directly to the sales page and get a ton of information to help you to write a good pre-sell of the product.

Uncover the reasons why your prospects are having a problem. Tell them why their problem hasn’t been solved and what’s possible. For example, “the reason you have excess stomach fat is because……” However you can get rid of your stubborn belly fat and get an amazing body if you………”

Tell the prospects about the benefits of getting the product and how it will solve their problem. For example, let them know that if they get that product they can lose up to 10 pounds in 10 days. They don’t have to go to gym to workout, etc etc

Have A Call To Action. This is very important. Do not assume that your reader knows that he or she is supposed to click a link. Tell them exactly what to do. For example: “If you want to get rid of your stubborn belly

Your Blog Is Now Partially Optimized For the Search Engines
Your next step to get your blog fully optimized is to make your first post which will be your pre-sell page. Before we do that though, we are going to hop over to Clickbank Marketplace to get our affiliate link for the product we are promoting. Type in the name of the product you chose via your market research in the search box. When the product comes up select create hop link. See image below:

Using Anchor Text to Link to the Merchant’s Page
You don’t want to leave your affiliate links exposed when you are linking to the merchants page. Even though your product is not in the Internet Marketing niche, most people still know what an affiliate link looks like. And even if they don’t, they still wouldn’t want to click on a link that looks too fishy. So instead of having a link such as http://yeastcure.dmhmd.hop.clickbank.net/ you can have a link Such As Click Here Now! Here is how to do that in blogger: First use your mouse to highlight the words that you want to make clickable:

I suggest you write your presell in a MS Word then leave it for a couple of hours. Go back and re-read it and fix any errors and tweak it as much as possible until you are 100% comfortable with it. (Note: this will still be a first draft. Over time you will test and tweak it to get maximum profit from it.)
