POSITION DESCRIPTION

General Accountability

    •    Develop and implement an Information Systems strategy, which will include the level of
         technology equipment (telephones, computers, office automation equipment, etc.) to be
         provided across each venue. Included in the strategy will be the assessment and
         management of the potential operational issues and risks created through the reduction of
         equipment.

    •    Develop the Internet Protocol which can be used to provide the data, voice, and video and
         broadcast services for the Games.

    •    Develop the Network Strategy to deliver the back office and Games requirements with the
         appropriate level of redundancy.

    •    Working with the Marketing and Revenue Generation team, develop the Sponsorship
         Strategy for the technology requirements to deliver the Games.


Key Job Responsibilities

    •    Develop and implement an Information Systems strategy which will include the
         level of technology equipment (telephones, computers, office automation
         equipment, etc.) to be provided across each venue. Included in the strategy will be
         the assessment and management of the potential operational issues and risks
         created through the optimization of technology based on service levels.

    •    Investigate and develop a strategy around cloud computing, determining the
         relevance for use on the Games Management Systems including the corresponding
         security and implementation plans.

    •    Develop a Website strategy which is able to generate revenue opportunities,
         support the needs of the diverse stakeholders and social media strategy.

    •    Working with the Marketing team, develop the sponsorship strategy and
         implementation of the plan to deliver a significant portion of the Value in Kind and
         Cash sponsorship targets.

    •    Develop the Internet Protocol platform throughout all venues that can be used to
         provide the data, voice, and video and broadcast services for the Games.

    •    Working with the Marketing and Revenue Generation team, develop a plan that
         sets out a strategic roadmap to explore and attain sponsorship opportunities with
         the focus being on high value and high risk areas, such as telecommunications.

    •    Develop an implementation plan supporting the Technology strategy, incorporating
         approaches that include outsourcing, lease versus buy and buy versus make
         opportunities.

    •    At the end of the Games, decommission the technology platform and complete a
         comprehensive report detailing strategy development, implementation,
         decommission processes and lessons learned.

    •    Self-starter - can jump into the middle of problems and issues and obtain effective
         results; able to react quickly and multi task
    •    Can operate equally well in strategic and tactical mode; ability to translate strategic
         direction into well defined operational plans
    •    Able to negotiate and successfully sell ideas and obtain excellent results
    •    Able to effectively manage staff with ability to coach, mentor and motivate to obtain
         excellence in results. Effective delegator to deliver the results.
    •    Strong business sense
    •    Adapts well to change and is able to operate effectively as a change agent and under
         pressure
    •    Can adapt strategic directives into specific action plans to achieve objectives
    •    Multi-lingual in French and Spanish an asset.

Educational/Technical Requirements

    •    University degree
    •    Deep knowledge of network platforms, hardware and software architecture design and
         service level optimization strategies gained through at least 20 years in industry
    •    Strong understanding of Games Management Systems and the implementation planning to
         ensure reliability required to deliver the Games.
    •    Expertise in developing disaster recovery and security programs to accommodate varying
         levels of levels of protection.
    •    Multi-disciplinary knowledge (knowledge of large-scale sports events an asset)
