You want your blog to be ranked first in Google rankings, so it is best to optimize
your web page. It will generate traffic for sure, and that would be a great
accomplishment for you. But wait; have you learned the SEO basics yet? If not, here
are some simple facts and tips to help you. Through this, your site will go from
nothing to the most popular in search engine results.
Link and Text Title It is not advisable to name your title link on numbers, or even
jumbled, unrecognizable letters. This is not considered as a good technique. It will
give you horrible poor rankings. A good permalink structure does have an impact on
SEO, like a proper name or phrase, which makes more sense than just naming with
mixed characters. Users can easily remember your link, as long as it is readable and
short. Secondly, you should always try putting in some keywords related to the
content on that page in your URL. Do not spam it or make it gibberish to read. Write
out the title of your post after that. It will be easy. But remember, we are talking about
one of the most important factors of good SEO, so do not take this too lightly.
Fine Keywords Learn to use keywords effectively. They should be present in search
results often. You should skillfully incorporate the keyword into your post five to six
times. It should not be boring to look at; try to device creative terms. Try also to limit
its number of existence, or the search engine spider may suspect them as spam. Create
them as user-friendly, as they should contain two percent of its density.
Quality Links Back up your site with various high quality website links. You will
gain decent number of back links and traffic, which will benefit you a lot. Also, avoid
your site to be linked with undesirable sites such as link farms, bad neighborhoods.
They will drag you down in the rankings. Carefully link yours to authorized and
trusted websites only so that your website becomes stronger. You can do this by
submitting your content on ezine publishing websites, guest posts, and genuine blog
comments in your niche.
Image Alt Tag Adding an ALT tag to your images when you insert them generates a
lot of traffic. An ALT tag is basically an alternative description of your image. This is
easily crawled by search engine spiders.
Using ALT text with an image is important. As people will disable the images, they
will see some text in place of the image on to their systems or email body. If you
forget to include ALT text, they will not get any information about the image you
placed on a page or email content. Worse, they won’t bother seeing the image from an
email or the page they are browsing.
Use of Anchor Text Interlinking your pages in the blog requires you to add proper
anchor text. Anchor text is basically a word that is related to the post that you have
linked it to; in short: keywords. For example, you have a post about online gaming,
and use the anchor text, games online in any of your posts that are linked to it. When
search engines visit your site and see that anchor text, they follow it, and know your
page is all about online gaming.
Interlink Your Pages Webmasters are so focused in getting quality links from other
blogs that they forget the most basic step of SEO: interlinking pages. This can benefit
a lot of things for you. By interlinking, you are basically selecting keywords in your
article and linking them to another page on your blog. You can do this with old
articles, pages on your blog, etc. This increases the page views on your blog, and
makes it easier for search engines to travel deep into your blog.
