By the end of 2010 a facelifted, fourth generation Mondeo was introduced with some brilliant changes. An impressive evolution from the stable of the Ford, the new Ford Mondeo is capacious, stylish, intelligently designed and enjoyable to drive. And what's more, it's still fairly cheap. The all fresh Ford Mondeo is ideally stuffed with powerful 1999cc, 2 litre 16 V Duratec engine in petrol with refined sequential Electronic Fuel Injection System that has the competency to offer a spectacular performance on any road condition and this surely got it the calibre to generate the utmost power & torque of 142.7 PS at 6000rpm & 185Nm at 4500rpm respectively. Ford Mondeo made a claim of offering an envious mileage of approx 8 km per litre on an average while on highway it may mark up-to 11.6kmpl which is pretty good as the competitors are concerned. Although the time of launching is not decided yet, it is expected to rock Indian market probably by December 2010, and estimated price of the Ford Mondeo will be approx 13 lacs. As far as the looks & comfort is concerned the all new Ford Mondeo has just rightly emphasized upon it, both the interiors and exteriors are well balanced and in a great rational distribution, a lot of upgrades has taken place with the interiors of newer model Ford Mondeo that fills it with a complete comfort & makes it barrier free like power height adjustable driver, front & rear occupant seats in Leather Alcantara stuff, rake and tilt adjustable power steering, power windows with bounce back sensors, automatic temperature controller electronic climate control air conditioning system with 4 speed bowler and heater & to add more comfort for passengers it is packed with radio supported 6 CD changer audio system that can be remote controlled via steering wheels. The ride is magical, especially when the Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control system is turned into the Comfort mark (there's also Normal and Sport). It's big car's comfort experienced within, alike a Jag, and obviously thousand time soother than most German 'luxury' cars. It doesn't just flatten the jerks of potholes and ridges, but with excellent brakes even negotiate a shrieking stoppage. But if the ride is soft and the car heavy, how's it going to manage the nimble feeling that was always a Mondeo speciality? The sad truth is, it doesn't. You have to swing the steering wheel energetically to turn it into a tight bend. However, body roll is well controlled even if the road dips during a corner. What with being the size of a small country, the Mondeo is definitely practical in all arenas except the one that requires you to parallel park into a tight space in front of a group of smirking builders. To end with, the Mondeo is one of the first vehicles to feature Ford's new 'kinetic design' paradigm. One thus has correctly expected the new face of the Mondeo to look little more like recent models with Ford's current body styling such as the Kuga and the new Fiesta.
