Mount Rushmore to Show Inauguration Ceremony at Memorial
(Keystone, S.D.) Mount Rushmore National Memorial Superintendent Gerard Baker announced Friday that the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony will be shown live in Theater B at the ‘Shrine of Democracy’ on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. This historic event in America’s history is a celebration of democracy in action and mirrors the vision and hard work of the four presidents represented at Mount Rushmore.
The screening of the ceremony will begin at 8:00 am and will continue throughout the day. In honor of this event, The Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society and Presidential Parking, Incorporated will offer free parking from 8:00 until 11:00 am for those that are attending the screening. Visitors coming to the memorial specifically for the event must identify themselves at the parking gate in order to receive free parking.
