The above locations have been selected to maximize birding potential for each season in coastal Humboldt County. Each season’s day route incorporates a start or ending at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. Any location can be visited at any season and still provide bird sightings. Each season’s trip suggestions can be covered in a single day but one may wish to break up the birding excursions into half-day trips.
