How to add a quiz in Moodle First enter your course and then turn the editing functions on by using the appropriate button.
Next choose Add an Activity and then chose the Quiz option.
Enter and name for the quiz as well as a description which will tell your students the information they need to know to take the quiz.
If you wish, your quiz can be available for specific times. To do this take the disable tick mark off the Open and Close Quiz lines and specify opening and closing dates and times. Set the options on this list as you want them. One feature that many teachers use is the shuffle questions feature. This will shuffle the question on the quiz so that while all students take the same quiz, each student’s quiz has the questions in a different order.
You may also wish to limit the feedback available to each student. Merely remove the tick marks for the areas you so not wish to present to students.
When you have the options as you want them click “Save Changes”
You will then be dropped into this screen which asks you to design the questions of the quiz. To do this, drop the list box down next to the Create new Question link. In this example I have chosen to add a multiple choice question.
Now fill in the options. First name the question. Here we are using Question 1 as the name. Next fill in the question.
Next fill in the mark assigned to the question and the penalty assigned for a wrong answer (if any). You can also specify whether there will be 1 correct answer or multiple correct answers.
You can also enter any general feedback for the question if you wish.
Now start to enter the choices for the multiple answers. Notice no grade for the wrong answers and 100% (of the assigned mark) for a correct one

Finally scroll down and Save Changes
You will then be dropped into this screen. The question I have created has is listed here and is available to deployed to any test however it is not as yet placed in the test I created. It is in a question pool. This pool of questions can be reused whenever you create new tests. To deploy the question simply carry it to the left side with the arrows here.
Your screen will change to this and you can edit your question or Save Changes to complete its addition to the test.
You can then continue adding questions here or use the breadcrumb trail to go back to your home page. From your home page, you can access your quizzes for editing purposes by clicking this link
You will then be brought to this screen where you can choose which quiz to edit and work on.
Congratulations – you have successfully created your test.
