How to construct an angle First study the protractor you will be using to determine where the center point(vertex) is…. 1) Is there a small hole you will put your pencil through to be the vertex Or Will you make a dot (vertex) and align the dot with a center mark| 2) Where is the zero line? Is above the bottom of the protractor ???? Or Equal with the bottom of the protractor. Now you begin construction of your angle. First, make the dot that is your vertex Be it through the hole in the protractor Or A dot where you need the vertex to be on your paper you will align with the center | Step Two Make your “zero line” By placing the straightedge of your protractor in the center of your vertex (dot) and drawing a line (traveling either from the left or right from the vertex) REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR > ON THE END TO MAKE IT CUPID’S ARROW. The direction the arrow points at the zero you will use to construct your angle. Starting at the zero (the one the arrow> is pointing to) find the measure on the protractor: Mark the measure with a dot, line, etc. Now raise your protractor and using the straightedge connect the vertex and mark you just made with a line. Again, don’t forget your > at the end. Now use your protractor to measure the angle to insure your angle (measure) is correct.
