					Peanut Butter Blossoms
Description: Peanut Butter Blossoms are a change on the classic peanut
butter cookies. They are simple, but can look more decorative. They use a
basic peanut butter cookie recipe, then Hershey’s brand Kisses (or other
decorative chocolates) are placed on top.

• 48 chocolate Kisses            • 2 tbs milk
• ½ cup butter (125ml)           • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
• ¾ cup peanut butter            • 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/3 cup sugar                  • ½ tsp salt
• 1/3 cup brown sugar            • sugar (for rolling cookies)
• 1 egg

• Preheat oven to 175˚C.
• Mix together the butter, sugars, egg, vanilla and peanut butter.
   Then add in the milk.
• Mix flour, baking soda and salt together. Slowly add the dry ingredients
   to the mix.
• Shape the dough into small balls, then roll in sugar.
• Place on a cookie sheet.
• Bake about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
• Immediately when you take the cookies out of the oven, place a kiss in
    middle of each cookie, pressing until the edges crack.

• Blossom - a flower, or the time when a flower blooms.
• Classic - something that is typical, well-known, simple or traditional.
• Decorative - something that looks nice.
• Tablespoon (tbs) - 15ml, about the size of a serving spoon.
• Teaspoon (tsp) - 5ml, about the size of a small spoon used for coffee or tea.
     About 1/3 of a tablespoon.
• Immediately - without letting any time go by.

Hugs: You may use hugs or other decorative chocolates instead of kisses on
top of the cookies. Be careful that you don't choose one that melts too easily,
or else you will lose the shape.

Surprise Cookies: After you have made the cookie dough, push the kiss or
other chocolate into the center. Roll the cookie around the chocolate so that
the chocolate is fully covered. Then roll in sugar and bake just like the
regular recipe. When the cookies are done, they will look like plain peanut
butter cookies until they are broken or bitten into. Try not to use chocolate
pieces that have nuts, caramel or anything else that will harden when it cools.

Chocolate Chip: Instead of using Kisses, you can use regular chocolate chips
(or small pieces of chocolate). After you've finished mixing the ingredients
for the dough, pour in a bag of chocolate chips, and bake like the regular
recipe. These cookies will look just like Chocolate Chip Cookies, but will
also have the flavor of peanut butter.

Drizzle: Instead of pressing a Kiss on top, you can melt chocolate and drizzle
it over the top of the cookies after they've baked. This can make for a very
decorative look.
