The eligibility criteria is that the member with a disability is aged between birth and eighteen (18) years, and meets the criteria for either Level 2 or 3 services with the Disability Services Commission, and lives at home with a Carer or the family. The respite service is home- and community-based, and is available 7 days per week excluding public holidays and aims to provide a positive experience for the individual. The programme's success lies in its innovative respite options that have been presented to families and the support provided by the City of Joondalup through the Anchors Vacation Programme. Community Vision promotes a philosophy of inclusion and encourages the participation in community activities by young people with a disability. It is an information service available on the web, designed especially for parents of children with developmental disability. It is very easy to follow and a comprehensive gateway to resources about developmental disability. It features three main sections : *Syndromes and Conditions - includes websites, chat rooms, books and videos relating to particular syndromes and conditions eg Autism, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome. *Life Events - books, videos that deal with the major stages of life including diagnosis, schooling and ageing *Special Topics - special issues that parents may face such as sibling issues, social skills and challenging behaviours.
