Child and Youth Respite Services
Community Vision receives funds from Disability Services
Commission to assist in the provision of respite options to families
living in the Joondalup and Wanneroo areas, who have a family
member with a disability. The eligibility criteria is that the member
with a disability is aged between birth and eighteen (18) years, and
meets the criteria for either Level 2 or 3 services with the Disability
Services Commission, and lives at home with a Carer or the family.
The respite service is home- and community-based, and is available
7 days per week excluding public holidays and aims to provide a
positive experience for the individual. The programme's success lies
in its innovative respite options that have been presented to
families and the support provided by the City of Joondalup through
the Anchors Vacation Programme. Community Vision promotes a
philosophy of inclusion and encourages the participation in
community activities by young people with a disability.
