How to Create a Website Template
SPACE has created a website template that you can use if you do not know how to create
a website yourself. All you need to do is fill out a Microsoft word document that contains
information for all of the following pages in the template. Each page other than the Home
page is optional, you do not have to include information if you do not have it or feel that
it is unnecessary. If you would like to include a separate page that is not listed we will try
our best to include it. Something like an "applications" page might be possible if you
need it. Once you have the information in a word document, please email it to
The possible pages are as follows:
Home page - a brief introduction to your organization and is mission. A picture would be
nice if you have it.
Contacts - a listing of your officers/advisors and their email addresses and/or phone
Events - a listing of all events that your organization runs. Please include dates when
Constitution - you can include your organizations constitution or charter if you would
like. We can post it for viewing, or create a link for downloading it.
History - If you would like, you can elaborate on your organizations history and talk up
any other historical items
Pictures - If you have any more pictures you would like to include here is the place. Feel
free to add a description to each picture.
The plan is for SPACE to initially take your organization’s information and format it into
a template. (See www.vanderbilt.edu/SPACE to see the template format.) Next year in
the fall of 2006, SPACE will host a Website 101 workshop for webmasters to learn more
about managing their website. Of course, you’re welcome to diverge from the template at
There is also a ton of information to help you keep your website going at the following

email@example.com if you have any questions, and I will do my best to help.
