Meeting Minutes from Monthly NorthCoast Chapter HDI Meeting Date: 5/19/04 I. Welcome a) Welcome given by – Pat Albright II. Introduction of Host Company a) Introduction by – Brent Heyneman b) Host Company – Modis c) Spokesperson for Host Company - Dave Blasko Chapter Business A) Officer’s Reports 1) President’s Report – Pat Albright a) Pat wanted to be sure all members know that our local chapter won the Overall Chapter of the Year award this year. Our chapter has won this Award five out of the past six years. b) The Officers held a strategic planning meeting on 5/10/04 – There are no new officers this year. During this meeting, several objectives were discussed for each officer. Officers will share these today during their officer report. c) One of Pat’s objectives for the next year will be to schedule a special vendor member event. 2) VP of Programs Report – Brent Heyneman Brent thanked Dave Blasko and Bob Dangler from Modis for hosting today’s meeting at this beautiful facility, and for providing the pizza, salad, pop and goodies. a) Upcoming Meetings: The June 16th meeting will be held at Lakeland Community College. Pat Albright (and possibly a guest) will be speaking on integrating Knowledge Centered Support into your organization. Brent announced that Heather Brizzi as the new Assistant VP of Programs this year. Welcome Heather! Brent and Heather’s objectives for the coming year will be to look into possibly holding some alternative special events, such as a dinner cruise, playing Whirlyball, going to an Indians game. Members may receive emails in the coming months asking for their input on planning these events. Please respond and give us your input. 3) VP of Membership – Vikki Jansen Denise and Vikki’s objectives for the coming year will be focused on increasing our chapter membership – both individuals, and new member companies. They may do this by holding some type of membership drive. This will allow us to have our meeting minutes and newsletters posted on the website faster. We may also add some new features to our website. b) Emails sent to the membership: - Link to last month’s meeting minutes and newsletter. - Final meeting reminder. c) Please let Tammy know if anyone is not receiving emails and should. 6) Newsletter Editor – Aggie Maas a) Aggie’s objectives for the coming year will be to get more member input to the newsletter. In an attempt to do this, Aggie has created a “Case Study Template” to use as a handout. Members can fill out these templates to share with other members things their company has done. The information can then be used to create an article for our newsletter. b) From now on, any job openings will be posted in the newsletter for one month. Anyone looking for a job will have their information posted for 2 months. If you would like it posted longer, just let Aggie know. c) Please let Aggie know if you would like to contribute anything to the monthly newsletter. 7) Librarian – Rita Brocco a) The CDs from the 2004 HDI Conference have arrived!
