MS Office Lesson Plan Template (Based on the Louisiana Making Connections Lesson Plan) Title Provide the complete lesson title. Placing Various 2 and 3 dimensional shapes within the correct template in powerpoint. Primary Subject Area List the primary content area for this lesson. Math-Geometry Grade Level List the beginning and ending grade levels for which this lesson is appropriate. Second to Third grade Inclusion Overview Provide a brief overview of the lesson. After discussing the 2 and 3 dimensional shapes, students will use the camera to take pictures of a cylinder, a cube, a sphere, a cone, a rectangular prism, and a pyramid around the classroom and/or school. Students will label pictures with appropriate shape. The teacher will allow the student to access a labeled folder in the computer lab with their various pictures of the 2 and 3 dimensional shapes and objects inside. It is then each student’s task to place each shape to its correct name within the Power Point template. Objectives Objectives should define what students will know and be able to do. Enter each learning objective using numbered bullets beginning with the words “The student will…” or “The learner will …” The learner will match each shape to its correct name. The learner will be able to access and use powerpoint and in the classroom. Lesson Materials and Resources List all materials and resources that are needed by the student or the teacher to execute the lesson Computer lab/ pictures of 2 and 3 dimensional shapes/ powerpoint Lesson Procedures Enter the lesson procedures using numbered bullets. The procedures should clearly describe the sequence of learning activities and should identify where and how all materials, technology tools, and reproducible materials/handouts are utilized in the lesson. Assessment Procedures Identify and describe all assessment procedures used for identifying the degree to which students have achieved the objectives of the lesson. Assessment should be ongoing and should include both formal and informal opportunities. Assessment should inform instruction. The teacher will assess by viewing pictures to see if students have correctly placed the objects and shapes within the correct PowerPoint template. Accommodations/Modifications Identify and describe some of the accommodations/modifications that can be made to the lesson so that students with exceptional needs can more fully participate in the lesson. Teacher will discuss, drill, and review the shapes that are to be labeled before the actual assignment. Students with exceptional needs can be paired with a regular education peer to work on this project. Manipulatives of the various geometric shapes can be provided prior to production of PowerPoint activity. Reproducible Materials List the names of all handouts that are provided for use with the lesson. Explorations and Extensions Briefly list and describe activities/learning opportunities that might be used by individual students to expand the understanding of concepts or development of skills introduced in the lesson.
