The most popular choice of people today is the Apple iPhone 4G and will clearly take
over Nokia's domination of the smartphone mobile phone market in Australia. Iphone
had quadrupled its market share by March 2010 to 40.3% closing the gap with Nokia
to just 5%. Nokia is said to be ditching its tired symbian operation system but when
that is likely to happen and with what is unknown but their latest flagship handset the
N8 still uses Symbian.
  The Nokia N8 covers 3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 with data
speeds HSDPA, 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2.0 Mbps, while the iphone 4G covers HSDPA
850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 with data speeds HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps. The
N8 display and touchscreen AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, while the
iphone 4G LED-backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors. Memory wise,
the N8 Nokia has 16 GB storage, 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and room for an
additional 32Gb HD SD Card. The iphone 4G comes in 16Gb and 32 Gb models with
no memory expansion. The camera in the Nokia N8 is a12 MP, 4000x3000 pixels,
Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash while the Iphone 4G only has 5 MP, 2592 x
1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash but with the ability to touch-focus and geo-tagging.
Finally in this comparison we compare batteries. The Nokia N8 Standard battery,
Li-Ion 1200 mAh (BL-4D) Stand-by Up to 390 h (2G) / Up to 400 h (3G) Talk time
     Up to 12 h 30 min (2G) / Up to 5 h 30 min (3G) Music play
  Up to 50 h
  The iphone 4G Standard battery, Li-Po 1420mAh Stand-by Up to 300 h (2G) /
Up to 300 h (3G) Talk time Up to 14 h (2G) / Up to 7 h (3G) Music play Up to
40 h
So Specifications wise and features Id say the Nokia N8 wins this argument but the
massive factor for consideration is the amount of apps written for the iPhone
technology compared to the Nokia.
