					           Academic Otolaryngologist – Head and Neck Surgeon
         Subspecialist: Rhinology – Endoscopic Skull Base Surgeon

The Department of Surgery of the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services
Calgary Zone invite applications for an Otolaryngologist with subspecialty training in
Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. The surgeon will participate in the
University of Calgary Medical Clinics and operate at the Rockyview General or Peter
Lougheed Hospital and participate in multi-disciplinary anterior skull base surgery at the
Foothills Medical Centre. The opportunity to treat children at the Alberta Children’s
Hospital is optional.

Qualifications include an M.D., active Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery with an additional
minimum of one-year of fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base
Surgery and eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta.

The ideal candidate will have acquired training or experience in clinical or basic science
research related to otolaryngology and sino-nasal disease. A Masters degree in Clinical
Epidemiology or other relevant post-graduate training is desirable.

The successful candidate will teach and evaluate residents and medical students in
various settings including clinical encounters and surgeries, didactic lectures and
seminars and surgical simulation.

The recruited surgeon will support the mission of the University by participating in
clinical outcomes and translational research projects in otolaryngology, rhinology and
related sciences.
