LEASE ADOPTION AGREEMENT
MERRR has horses available in our lease/adoption program. These horses are able to become part of your family for a short or long term stay. Ownership of these animals remains with Mountain Equine Rescue, Rehabilitation and Retirement. Adoption Checklist 1. Complete an application
2. Come for an assessment of your riding and handling ability, so we can determine the suitability of the animals that are available for your needs. 3. Sign the lease/adoption agreement which is an open-ended time agreement.
4. You understand that regular checks are made on the animal during the time that you have them in your care. 5. You understand that animals may be returned to the program in your lease/adoption agreement at any time. 6. If at any time we feel the care is not up to the well being of the animal, it may be removed from your care and custody. 7. A fee is assessed for each animal, based on the cost of acquiring them, vet care and expenses. Adoption / Lease fees help support our efforts and allow us to provide care for other animals coming into the rescue program. This fee is not a purchase of the animal, but a contribution to benefit the program and help it continue in the care and acquisition of other deserving equines. The adoption is for an undetermined amount of time. If an animal is returned to MERRR for any reason please understand that this fee is non-refundable.
