A follow-up study tour in the Philippines for the past participants of the Japan East-Asia
Network of Exchange Students and Youth (JENESYS) Future Leaders Programme

Background
The Japan East-Asia Network of Exchange Students and Youth (JENESYS) Programme has
been implemented since 2007 and has about 250 young leaders from sixteen different
countries, from various sectors of society in Asia and Oceania. Each batch has a different
program theme, namely:

        Migration for a win-win scheme
        Creative cities
        Poverty
        Environmental conservation through Bio-diversity
 Migration and role of community
        Comprehensive peacebuilding
        Cultural diversity
 Education for sustainable development (ESD)
 Environment: Symbiosis with nature and a sustainable society

Now that the JENESYS Program is on its third year, it makes sense to conduct a mid-term
review of the program and follow up on the activities of past participants and assess and plan
how to move forward.

after participation in the JENESYS program

 Enhance alumni’s leadership skills such as in Dialogue, Networking and
Collaboration. (This objective may change according to the program)

 Contribute further in strengthening the East Asia relationships and mutual
              understanding.
