CINDY ADAMS
columnist, dog lover

Jazzy Park Avenue Dog founder and ASPCA board member Cindy
Adams is best known for her daily syndicated column in the New York
Post, which she has written since 1981.

The native New Yorker has also been a regular contributor to ABC’s
Good Morning America and has appeared on many other television
shows, including WNBC’s Live at Five, CNN’s Larry King Live, E!
Entertainment Network’s Gossip Show and ABC’s Politically Incorrect.

Cindy has written several books, is a frequent lecturer, and designs
jewelry in her spare time. She lives in New York City with her dogs,
Jazzy and Juicy.
FOREwORD by CInDy ADAMS
Travel is part of my job and my DNA. I’m someone who is always off
someplace. I love it. I thrive on it. But I can’t bear leaving my sweet little
Jazzy and Juicy. Jazzy’s five. He’s four and a half pounds. Juicy’s six.
Minus an extra bite of chicken, she’s three and a half pounds. To most
people, they’re Yorkies. To me, they’re family.

That’s why I feel we must try and make this globe a better place to
travel with our pets—and JetBlue agrees with me.

Their new JetPaws™ program evolved out of the needs of pet lovers
like me. JetPaws makes traveling with your dog or cat easier and more
seamless. Jazzy and Juicy—who I love so much that if they could pay
the maintenance I’d leave them my apartment—now thank JetBlue
every time we travel.

My pet-product line Jazzy® Park Avenue Dog has partnered with
JetBlue to create some great travel items to make taking off with a
small four-legged creature even better. Jazzy and Juicy have personally
tested JetBlue’s signature pet carrier and travel kit to guarantee that
these items provide the comfort and quality our little ones crave. I can
honestly tell you that from chew bones to snack treats to water bowls,
Jazzy and Juicy fully endorse the whole line.

JetPaws will make it easier to keep your pet in the comfort my dogs
have grown to expect—and adore. Hope to see you on JetBlue with your
animal family member soon.

XOXO

Cindy Adams
JETTING WITH YOUR PET
Traveling with the furry little ones shouldn’t be difficult. This guide will
teach you all about Travel Petiquette™, the social graces of pet travel,
and guide you through the ins and outs of jetting with your pet from the
moment you book your flight to your arrival at your final destination

            BOOKING YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND

J etBlue gladly accepts small cats and dogs in the aircraft
cabin on both domestic and international flights. To book
your pet, call 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583). Pets cannot be
    booked online. Keep in mind:

    • There is a nonrefundable pet fee per flight segment.
    • A limited number of animals are allowed on each flight, so book
      your pet early.
    • The combined weight of your pet and carrier may not exceed
       20 pounds.
    • Your pet and carrier will count as your one carry-on personal item.
    • Only one pet is allowed per customer, with a few exceptions.

BEFORE YOU GO
Make sure you obtain the following items before you travel. You will be
asked to present them at check in.
• Proper pet vaccination and documentation for each destination of
your trip. Currently there are no vaccination or health requirements
for pets on domestic flights. Pets to/from an international
destination, including Puerto Rico, require proper documentation.

Canceling your pet reservation

applied toward future travel for one year from the date of issuance.

JetPaws™ Travel Checklist
Traveling with your pet can be lots of fun as long as you are well
prepared and informed. Use the checklist below to ensure you have
everything you need for a trip as smooth as your companion’s coat.
   Required vaccinations and documentations

   Licenses
   Airline-approved pet carrier
   Snacks and treats
Pet supplies during your stay. JetBlue offers a nifty Pet Travel Kit
which includes a blanket, a bowl and a bone in a carrying bag.

HOTELS, RESTAURANTS, PARKS
AND ANIMAL HOSPITALS BY CITY

There are lots of pet-friendly places out there; the following
are just a few of the most popular hotels, restaurants
and parks in some of JetBlue’s major cities that we
recommend. We’ve also included some really great animal
hospitals in the event your pet needs medical attention.
Always call ahead before visiting an establishment to
make sure their pet policies haven’t changed. Here’s some
helpful information about these places:

HOTELS
When booking a hotel, make sure you let them know you’re bringing a
pet. Always ask about the hotel pet policies. Some hotels have rules,
such as requiring that pets are not left alone in the room, that might
require some extra planning on your part. If you’re looking for a luxury,
pet-friendly hotel, a good resource is LuxuryPaw.com.

Some hotels offer packages and programs to provide your pet with a
little extra pampering. Here are three of our favorites:
     K
• impton Hotels: Special pet packages include amenities such as
food and water bowls, mineral water, temporary pet tags, gourmet
dog cookies, walking services, dog sitting services, and even pet
massages. Call 800-546-7866 for more information.
• W Hotels: Upon arrival, pets receive welcome packets containing
a toy, treat, pet tag and clean-up bags with the W’s PAW (Pets
Are Welcome) Program. PAW rooms include amenities such as a
custom W pet bed, food and water bowl with floor mat, a “Pet in
Room”	door	sign,	and	special	treat	at	turndown,	and	much	more.
     Call 877-946-8357 for more information.
• ALOFT Hotels: As part of the arf(sm) pet program, pets are offered
an	aloft	dog	bed,	bowl,	“woof-alicious”	treats,	and	toys.	Call
   1-877-GO-ALOFT for more information.

RESTAURANTS
   M
• ost	pet-friendly	restaurants	allow	you	to	sit	with	your	pet	at	their
outdoor tables. However, they cannot sit on the chairs or tables.
• Always	keep	your	pet	leashed.
   S
• ome	restaurants	provide	water	for	your	pet,	but	if	they	don’t,	come
prepared with a portable water bowl.

PARKS
   B
• ring	a	leash.	Some	parks	are	off-leash	or	have	off-leash	areas,	but
it’s good to always have one handy.
   A
• lways	clean	up	after	your	dog.	Bring	a	pooper	scooper	or	a	plastic
bag to pick up what your pooch may leave behind.

ANIMAL HOSPITALS
The animal hospitals recommended in this JetPaws Travel Guide are
accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA
is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the
United States and Canada. AAHA-accredited hospitals adhere to the
highest-quality standards available, ensuring the best care for your pet.
