14 Negotiable Rental
Should any intended use of the whole or part of the
facilities be of such a nature that the hirer shall derive
a substantial profit therefro, the tariff shall
be replaced by a fixed amount in the form of a rental
to be negotiated between the DH : PLC and the user.
15 The council reserves the right to reject applications
which are deemed to be inappropriate for the
foreshore or which are not in keeping with the vision
for the city, in contravention of existing laws, by-laws
and seashore regulations or not in keeping with
policies and criteria.
16 Any applications for use of facilities by the
eThekwini Sport and Recreation Development Dept, will be at no cost.
Any applications for use of facilities by sport federations/clubs/
sports councils etc which is endorsed by the Deputy Head of the eThekwini Sport
and Recreation Development Department, shall be at no cost."

13 For the hire and respective use of the activity rooms
and boardrooms, 50% of the tariffs in terms of 1-7 above.
14 a) For use of the facilities for anything other than
already specified, the tariff shall be determined by the
Head of the Department. If the purpose for which the
purposes specified above, the charge shall be the
highest of the various rates applicable.
b) Refundable deposits of 30% of the hire fee,
will be held against damages and repairs. If the repairs
or damages exceeds this amount, the hirer will be invoiced for the balance.
c) Bookings will not be processed unless they are
received at least 5 working days in advance of the
proposed event and payment must be made within 72
hours to confirm the booking. Bookings not confirmed with
payment within 72 hrs will be deemed as temporary
bookings and are subject to re- allocation.
d) All bookings are made on a first come, first serve basis.
e) Events shall not start later than 20:00 and all events
will stop by 24:00 unless special permission has been
received from the DH: P,L+C and depending on the
availability of staff.
15 ADDITIONAL CHARGES:
(a) Security
When security is required in the case of high risk
events such as large crowds, school functions,
parties and discotechs, amongst others, the
department will arrange security for the protection of the
council asset at the expense of the hirer, giving due notification
(b) Fireman attendance
For the attendance of a Fireman on duty at the facility,
as required by The Head. Such charges are payable in
terms of Section 134(1)(e) of the General By-laws.
