SPECIFIC SHORELINE USE Policies and Regulations

Existing legal uses and activities are "grandfathered-in" and do not require a Substantial Development permit.

Any activity, however, that meets the definition of development and is not exempt from permitting, must apply for a Shoreline
Substantial Development Permit (or a Conditional Use permit) unless otherwise indicated in this master program.


                                                     This use or activity is allowed within the shoreline jurisdiction or specific shoreline
                                                     environment/s listed. If it meets the definition of development it must comply with all
              P = Permit Required                    applicable provisions of this master program; if it meets the definition of a substantial
                                                     development, the project proponent must apply for a Shoreline Substantial
                                                     development permit.


                                                     This use or activity (whether a development of a substantial development) may be

                                                                                        Dredging Exemption
                                                                 The following activities are exempt from the shoreline substantial
                                                              development permit requirement. The project proponent shall acquire a
                                                               Statement of Exemption from the Town, and these activities may still
                                                                                      require a conditional use.

                                                             1. Operations, maintenance or construction of certain canals, waterways,
