Dear Parents/Carers, 6 November 2009
Cricket Coaching
About 20 pupils thoroughly enjoyed some cricket coaching over three days of half term run by ex-professional
cricketer Matt Bulbeck. It was so successful that we may well repeat this perhaps during the second week of the
Easter holidays. We will let you know details nearer the time.

Next week looks to be a particularly busy one….! Events include:
   • Space Odyssey – Monday - a return of this amazing experience for Classes 5 and 6 linked to their
      Science work on space
   • PAFOTS Committee meeting – Monday at 7.00pm – to plan Christmas activities
   • Y6 to Guildhall, Chard to be involved in Remembrance Commemoration and Second World War
      Exhibition
   • Visit of ‘Spellbinder’ – Wednesday - an enthralling day of storytelling for all children (once again our
Legacy Fund is able to pay for this return visit so there is no charge for parents)
   • Shopping Night – Thursday from 7.00pm – do come along and browse around about 20 stalls for
some gift ideas; refreshments also available
   • ‘Tatworth at Christmas Encore’ – Recording Day on Friday to make our second CD
   • Village Big Breakfast on Saturday from 8.30am

School Photographs
The deadline for ordering school photographs is next Thursday 12 November.

Christmas Productions
We will soon be issuing ticket letters for our Christmas Productions. As most of you will know, we do not
charge for these tickets but instead always nominate a Christmas charity to support. Over the years, due to your
generosity, we have collected a really useful sum of money each year. This year we hope to do the same for our
nominated charity of ‘Shelterboxes’. This helps families in areas of the world when natural disasters strike such
as earthquakes, volcano, flood, hurricane, tsunami etc. In these cases people often lose everything and would be
unable to survive without help. Shelterbox is a south-west charity which responds instantly by sending out boxes
containing essentials such as a tent, lifesaving water filtration system and basic tools. A representative from the
charity will come in and show our children one of their boxes nearer to our Productions. Dates are as follows:
    • Monday 7 December 7.00pm – Choir singing at Wells Cathedral
    • Tuesday 8 December 6.00pm – KS1 present ‘Humph the Camel’
    • Wednesday 9 December 6.00pm – Reception present ‘Whoops a Daisy Angel’
    • Thursday 10 December 6.00pm – KS1 present ‘Humph the Camel’
    • Saturday 12 December 5.00pm – Group to sing for arrival of Father Christmas – Tatworth Playing Fields
    • Monday 14 December 12.00pm – KS2 Rehearsal at Cricket St Thomas
    • Tuesday 15 December 6.30pm – KS2 present ‘Nativity Nightmares’
    • Wednesday 16 December 6.30pm – KS2 present ‘Nativity Nightmares’
    • Thursday 17 December 2.00pm – KS2 present ‘Nativity Nightmares’ at Cricket St Thomas
Yours sincerely,
David Knight, Headteacher
