Class    F5 Stormhill Stud CHAPS FACTOR FINAL. Only open to pre-qualified exhibits, qual
            card with entry.
              The top 4 exhibits, in no particular order, will be posted in the Secretary’s area on conclusion
              of the Preliminary Judging. These exhibits are invited forward to compete in the Final during
              the Friday Evening Performance where Evening Dress will be required. Qualification Card
              MUST accompany entry; entries will not be accepted without this Card correctly signed. The
              placings will be decided by a public vote - votes will ONLY be accepted on the official
              CHAPS Voting Paper for this class.

Sporthorse classes to be run in-hand on the triangle. Exhibits enter ring, one at a
time, present themselves in front of the judge at “A”. They will be asked to walk
from A-B, B-C, C-A and then proceed directly to trot, trot from A-B, B-C, C-A, back B        <            C
to walk and halt in front of judge. Classes are open to Coloured Sporthorse/
Ponies (bred for showjumping, dressage or eventing; and will be judged using

              Exhibits to be loose jumped down the jumping lane of two jumps, three attempts will be
              allowed. Height of fences at the discretion of the exhibitor. To be judged on athleticism,
              style, attitude and technique.
              Entries to these classes WILL BE LIMITED and will only run if sufficient entries made.

Class F39 Disley Estates King of the Ring. This Class is only open to the following exhibits: Supreme
              and Reserve Supreme In-hand Champions from the CHAPS (UK) North Wales (2nd May),
              South East (9th May), Northern (23rd May), Midlands (3rd July) and South West (7th
              August); and the Champion and Reserve Champion In-hand from the CHAPS (UK) North
              East (21st March), Welsh (16th May), Festival (North West Regional, 12th & 13th June), and
              Scottish (15th August). Qualification Card MUST accompany entry.
              Exhibits will be assessed and the top 8 will be selected to go forward to the Final Judging
              during the Friday Evening Performance; where judging will be undertaken by the two
              Preliminary judges and special guest judge, Joanne Disley.
              All exhibits forward for Preliminary judging will receive a King of the Ring Finalists rosette.
              Awards and prize money will be made to top 8 exhibits during the evening performance -
              1st Rug, Sash, Trophy and £500; 2nd Sash and £100; 3rd rosette and £50 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th
              & 8th rosette and £20 each.

 once the last exhibit in any in-hand class has commenced its initial trot-up, no further

           FOAL FUTURITY QUALIFIERS are open to all Coloured Foals born in 2010, sired by a
           CHAPS (UK) Stallion or any non-coloured stallion approved by any recognised Breed Society.
           ALL foals MUST be CHAPS (UK) Registered; RAF (Registration Applied For) entries accepted
           ONLY if Admin has received the Registration Application BEFORE the entry has been sent; a
           photocopy of the Registration Application Form MUST accompany the Entry.
           Foal Entries CLOSE strictly 16th AUGUST postmark; NO Late or Show Day entries.
           Foals MUST be a minimum of 3 weeks old at date of Show.

            and owner of the Graded Sire. In the event of any Foal Futurity Qualifier not having
            enough entries forward to cover 1st, 2nd & 3rd, the Final will run light from that class.

GRADING ENTRIES CLOSE 16th AUGUST 2010. Grading Information Booklets are available from
CHAPS (UK) Admin, or downloadable at www.chapsuk.com (grading). The cost of Mare Grading is £60
per mare -ALL mares entering MUST provide a 2-stage Vetting Certificate which was carried out not
more than 21 days before the date of this Grading; and if not already DNA profiled you must also
include an additional £45 to cover this cost. Highest graded mare to be presented during the
Evening Performance. Entries for Mare Grading MUST be made directly through CHAPS (UK) Admin,
1 McLaren Cottages, Abertysswyg, Rhymney, Tredegar, NP22 5BH. Entry forms/ handbooks available
from Admin.

  Please remember all Stewards/Officials give up their time freely. They are
 there solely for the competitors’ benefit. Please be polite, any abuse will not
    be tolerated and may result in being asked to leave the showground.

CLASHING of CLASSES: Every endeavour has been made to avoid the classes clashing,
  but if an exhibitor finds out their classes overlap, it is suggested permission be
  obtained from the Steward to give individual shows, ridden and in-hand, early in
  classes. However, exhibits will not be placed unless they are present for the final walk-
  round. Classes may not be held up for missing competitors. Exhibitors are reminded to
  consider clashing of either horse/pony or rider/handler before entering.
HORSE WALKS: Must be adhered to. Pedestrians should not walk in the horse walks.
WEATHER/GROUND CONDITIONS: If any doubt, or for enquiries, please telephone in

                      CHAPS (UK) CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW –
                        Rules and Conditions of Entry
ALL CLASSES are run in accordance with guidelines in current CHAPS (UK) Members’ Handbook
plus all relevant subsequent amendments; and the Rules in this Schedule. Any entry submitted for
this Show (whether before or on the day(s)) shall be deemed as acceptance of all pertaining Rules.
All exhibits to be shown according to their “type” description as issued by CHAPS (UK).
  1 The ruling of Judges/Officials is Final. CHAPS (UK) reserves the right to substitute judges as necessary.
  2 Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors and their grooms. Hard hats must be worn
     whilst mounted on any part of the Showground. Grooms must wear suitable hats whilst attending in
     the Ring. All Junior Exhibitors (18 yrs & under) MUST wear correctly fitting current safety standard
     hats whilst mounted.
  3 The Orgainsers reserve the right to amalgamate classes or to alter any class or ring without
     explanation.
  4 All dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  5 Neither the Organisers, Landowners, Committee or Agents of the Society accept liability for any
     accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any person or
     property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever.
  6 No exhibitor (rider or handler) should knowingly exhibit an animal under a panel judge who has
     owned, bred, produced, leased/loaned, sold or received any financial gain from that exhibit
     (horse/pony) with the exception of ancillary services i.e. Stud fees, group teachings, vet, blacksmith
     etc.
  7 No horse/pony under the age of 4 years old may be ridden on the showground. No galloping allowed
     on the showground except as required by the Judge. All ages, whether exhibit or exhibitor, are taken
     to be as at 1st January of the current year.
  8 Any person participating in any way at this Show who conducts themselves in a manner which might
     bring the Society into disrepute will be asked to leave Showground; membership may be revoked.
  9 Exhibitors shall take good care of, and shall not cause any damage or suffer any damage to be done
     to the site/showground or to any furniture, fittings, equipment or other property therein and shall
     be responsible to pay for any damage there (including accidental damage) caused by an act of
     neglect or in use. This includes stabling.

10 Trophies: Any named Trophies are Perpetual Challenge Trophies and must be returned in the same
   condition they were awarded in, one month before the following year’s Championship Show.
   Failure to do so will result in the implementation of a fine and names posted in the “Name & Shame”
   column in ‘a World of Colour’. Return 2009 trophies to Marion Hardy, “Hardy”, Knutsford Road,
   Chelford, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK11 9AS to arrive BEFORE 1st AUGUST 2010. No trophy
   returns will be accepted at the Show.
11 Stallions: Where stallions are eligible to enter a class, they must be CHAPS (UK) Graded and
   Stallion ID Card must be carried in the ring; with the exception of Experimental classes.
12 All exhibits must be registered with CHAPS (UK). Owners/exhibitors must be paid-up current
   showing members of CHAPS (UK). Experimental Classes exempt. ALL ages are taken as at 1st
   January in the current year. Where height limits are stated these are taken to be AT MATURITY in
   all cases.
13 Entries: No entries will be accepted without correct fees, to include compulsory First Aid donation
   per exhibit. Cheque guarantee number MUST be written on reverse of cheques. NO postal entries
   will be accepted after postmark 11th AUGUST. No entries accepted for Foal Futurity after postal
   closing date. All entries after this date to be made at the Show at surcharged fees. Cheques on
   Show Days only when accompanied by relevant cheque guarantee card. See Entry Fees in
   schedule for details of entry fee sliding scale.
14 Stabling: The stabling of horses or ponies in trailers or horseboxes/lorries overnight is
   NOT permitted. Stables must be left clean and mucked out. No responsibility will be accepted by
   this Society or its representatrives for any items of tack, grooming kit, clothing, horses or ponies etc
   left in stable area or whilst at the show.
15 Prize Money: ALL prize monies MUST be collected on Show day(s). NO prize money will be
   posted out at a later date (with the exception of the Foal Futurity).
16 Refunds: A 50% (only) refund will be granted on entries (only) where a valid veterinary or doctor’s
   certificate is produced within 7 (seven) days of the date of Show.
17 In the event of cancellation, a 50% Admin fee will be deducted from any refunds, please send s.a.e.
   should this occur.
18 Height Certificates: Spot checks will be carried out at the CHAPS Championship Show at the
   discretion of the show committee – a maximum of 3cms will be allowed for shoes and show “hype”;
   however, should any exhibit measure in excess of 3cms above its stated height the exhibit may be
   required to re-present to JMB for measuring.
19 Dope Testing: Will take place at this Show under the guidelines set down in the current CHAPS
   (UK) Members’ Handbook.
20 Objections: Any objection must be made in writing, by a current CHAPS (UK) Member, within 30
   minutes of the alleged offence and accompanied by a £50 cash deposit, refundable if the objection
   is upheld.
21 Qualification Cards. Where a class prefixed with ‘F’ before its number it requires pre qualification
   to enter. CHAPS Qualification Card, duly signed in the correct box(es) MUST accompany all entries to
   such classes. Entries will not be accepted without this Qualification Card (see current Members’
   Handbook).
22 2011 Qualifiers. Where classes at this Show are designed as 2011 CHAPS Championship Show
   Qualifiers you are required to have your 2011 CHAPS Qualification Card signed in the ring, by the
   judge, at the time of qualification as per rules in current Members’ Handbook. Please apply two-
   three weeks in advance of this Show to CHAPS (UK) Admin stating current Showing Membership
   Number(s) for owner and exhibitor and CHAPS Registration Number/Name of exhibit card is
   required for. Qualification will not be awarded without this Card. Cards will be available at the
   Show on production of your current Membership Number(s) and CHAPS Passport & Registration
   Number for each exhibit as stated elsewhere in this schedule.
23 EVENING DRESS. Where Evening Dress is required this is taken to be: IN-HAND – Gents, dark suit,
   bow tie; Ladies, dark suit, black/blue trousers/skirt & suitable top, suitable shoes. RIDDEN – Blue or
   black jackets, stock, top hat/hunting cap (adults only. Juniors to wear correctly fastened current

This price band also applies at all times to any Qualifier Finals entered where the
qualification was obtained on or after 28th July up to & incl Show dates.
CATEGORY B: All entries postmarked 29th July up to & incl 16th August 2010.
