2010 Teaching Awards Regional Finalists Out of over 9000 entries, Stourport high school & VIth Form Centre was the only school in the whole Midlands region to have TWO entries shortlisted for the finals held in Birmingham at the International conference Centre on June 10 2010. Ceri Owens won a DISTINCTION as teacher of the year and the WHOLE of the student support team (represented by Emma Dryden, Emma hale, Julia Mullard, Mary Mason Darby, Jackie Morgan-Jones, Becky Johnson and Pauline Pitman) also won a distinction. This means that were second placed overall in the categories and were in the top 20 of the national finalists. This is a truly outstanding achievement for all involved and we are very, very proud of them all. The awards ceremony was brilliantly supported, for the second year running, by our school Jazz Band ably led by Mr Brown and Mr Webb. They made a fantastic contribution to the whole event, as did all of the students who came along to support the awards, and we are really proud of the way that they represented the school so brilliantly.
