features that are often associated with high end (and high cost)
proprietary PBXs. Asterisk's architecture is designed for maximum
flexibility and supports Voice over IP in many protocols, and can
interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using
    relatively inexpensive hardware

Asterisk as a IVR Solution
 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is the technology that let you
interact with a menu uses a touch-tone telephone. It is very easy
to set-up such a menu with Asterisk. In telephony, interactive
voice response, or IVR, is a computerized system that allows a
person, typically a telephone caller, to select an option from a
voice menu and otherwise interface with a computer system.

 Short for Interactive Voice Response, a telephony technology in
which someone uses a touch-tone telephone to interact with a
database to acquire information from or enter data into the
database. IVR technology does not require human interaction
over the telephone as the user's interaction with the database is
predetermined by what the IVR system will allow the user access

                             Private & Confidential
Asterisk Voicemail System
 Password protected
 Separate away and unavailable greetings
 Default or custom greetings
 Multiple mail folders
 Web interface for checking of voicemail
 E-mail notification of voicemail with audio file attachment
 Voicemail forwarding
 Visual message waiting indicator (MWI)
 Message waiting stutter dialtone
 The number of messages for each voice mailbox is limited to 99
messages. Starting with Asterisk 0.7.1 the system now plays a

Asterisk as a Media Gateway

 It can also be built out as the heart of a media gateway,
bridging the legacy PSTN to the expanding world of IP
telephony. Asterisk’s modular architecture allows it to
convert between a wide range of communications
    protocols and media codecs.

    Asterisk in Interactive Video IVR
 Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. Asterisk runs on BSD Unix, Linux, and Mac OSX
and provides all of the features you would expect from a top of the line hardware-based
PBX. Asterisk supports VoIP in many protocols, and can interoperate with almost all
standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware. Among it's
many features, Asterisk provides IVR capabilities.
 Interactive Video IVR is an exciting new technology that combines the simplicity of
traditional interactive voice IVR with the advanced video capabilities offered by 3G
 The Interactive applications are delivered to the end-user over a standard 3G video call,
using existing, mandatory 3G standards. This means that video IVR applications work
same on all the handsets. There is no need to repurpose content for different handsets.
 One of the great advantages of Interactive Video IVR is that it places all the application
    logic on the server.
 As Interactive Video IVR uses standard video calls as the delivery medium, the end-
users do not need to download or install anything on their phones to access the
    applications. Just dial and play!
 Our high quality compositing and real-time compression engine can seamlessly blend and
mix pre-recorded video, live video, images, audio and real time rendered graphics.

Asterisk in Video Surveillance System
 Surveillance becomes proactive with intelligent video surveillance technology.
 Intelligent video surveillance system is designed to actively and rapidly scan
though video feeds to monitor and detect such suspicious activities and
behaviours as a person entering an unauthorized areas, a bag left
    unattended, or an individual loitering.
 The use of surveillance camera systems can alert you before threatening
situations worsen, as well as provide you with an important record of events.
 Monitoring your store or business can be invaluable, in identifying and
apprehending thieves and vandals. The prevention or resolution of just one
crime would be enough to pay for video surveillance system equipment many
    times over.
 Surveillance for a High-Tech world
 As our world becomes more digitalized, your options for Surveillance
        Video equipment become more multifunctional.

Conference Bridge
 Conference calls were done by a single instigator contacting all of
the participants in what was essentially an expanded version of
    three-way calling.
 The conference bridge was developed to eliminate this time
consuming and (in the case of long-distance calls) costly process.
 The bridge serves as a hub for several callers to connect to via a
specific telephone number and security code so that instead of a
single user contacting all of the participants the participants can all
    connect themselves to the conference.
 A number of conference bridges also have advanced features
including scheduling software integrated into the unit and an
autodialler that can be programmed to automatically contact all of
the conference participants at the same time.

                                Private & Confidential
How a Conference Bridge Can Help You?
 By utilizing a conference bridge for calls, companies can save time
in getting everyone connected and get right to the heart of the
    business at hand.
 A bridge featuring a scheduler and autodialler can increase this
productivity even more by organizing conference calls across
multiple time zones if necessary and automatically contacting the
various offices, agents, and clients who are scheduled to take part in
    the call.
 This can be especially useful for those businesses who regularly
conference with clients, as it saves the client the trouble of dialing in
to the bridge and eliminates any potential long distance charges that
    the client might otherwise incur.
