Hurrah Hurrah its Spring – the Bird is on the Wing – how absolutely absurd – the wing is on the
Bird… here goes another newsletter

Steelwings Birthday Bash 30 September 2009!!!!
The usual suspects arrived en masse at Pomodoro Restaurant in the new Morningside Shopping
Centre. It was great to see Hannes and Marisa there. The birthday children that pitched were Irene,
Marisa, Anne, Evan, Mark Breckle and Michelle. Lekka party was had by all – and the cake ... death
by chocolate.

Some suspects scene on the scene of the cake:
The advertising in The Citizen on Thursday 1st October was a bonus advertising The annual Teddy
Bears Picnic. About 25 Wingers headed off to the Teddy Bears Picnic at Marks Park on Saturday
afternoon via a coffee meet at Europa, a ride and fab lunch at the Thunder-Gun Restaurant in Cresta
before roaring off to the Picnic. So lovely to see Joe and Norma, Lemmer and Vinnie (and of course all
the regulars) on the ride. The photographer went missing… alas no proof of what went down – which
might be a good thing…

Steelwings JHB donated R5000.00 toward to fund.

Steelwings Annual Sunflower Run
Those that braved the weather and the intermittent rain had a blast as they joined the ranks of
National Steelwings Event on a round-about ride to various Pick and Pay Supermarkets in support of
the Sunflower Fund – over 100 Harley’s roared in procession to mark a truly memorable occasion.
Thank you to everyone for your support – a great day was had by all!!

Candice, Lone Ranger & Lauren Evan & Gail Loucia, Bruce, Mich & Pete

Norma Irene and Joe Dov and Trevor

Stilted cheese… Mark and Linsey Tolla and Irene
The newly-weds Thabazimbi Prezzie with Michelle & Jo

Nice to see Houston Hadden fresh from District 9 filming on both teddy bear picnic ride and sunflower

A letter emailed from Pieter Groenewald:
Hi to All,

I hereby want to express my gratitude to all, for your support on Sunday's Pick & Pay Sunflower Bandana run. We
demonstrated our commitment to charity as well as unity amongst each other. Adding the number of bikes starting from
Pretoria and Rustenburg, we totaled just on a HUNDRED HARLEYS.

Also a big thank you to Pat and his team from V-Customs Cycles.

Celeste and Philip from Pick & Pay asked me to convey their appreciation for making this day a success.

Please circulate this amongst all your members.

Steelwings Greetings
