                                                                                                                    When Andy’s Fund was established in December of
                                                                                                                1998, no one knew exactly what type of impact there
                                                                                                                would be. Certainly animals would benefit, but how

         The end of dog                Summer is upon us and with it comes rich green pastures, lots
        racing forever?            of bugs and sadly, more neglected horses and goats. As we dive into
                                   the summer months please keep a close eye on your horses for signs
                                   of heat stress and make sure they have plenty of FRESH water to
                                   drink. Everyone worries about horses out in the cold during the
                                   winter, which is good; however, summer is actually more dangerous
                                   (add some flies and it’s more annoying, too). Also remember, to
                                   work horses slowly onto grass pastures after the long winter of a dry
                                   forage diet is crucial to preventing colic and founder.
                                       So, what’s going on in the NHSPCA Barn? Well, lots!! We
                                   currently have a total of eleven horses, six in foster care, leaving

                                   five at the NHSPCA. We also have three pygmy goats on site and
                                   available for adoption.

                                   fabulous families who are working with the babies to ensure proper

                                   socialization in their most formative months. They’re getting their
                                   legs under them and learning how to be horses. Super extra cute!

         Back Page >               home page. We will be posting them on the website when and if
