Proposal To DAC, 6.09.2009 Title One & SCE $’s from Socially Economically Deprived (SED) –compared to 08-09 Item One: 09-10 Con App – Uniform funding SCE Lowest Range (25%) and Tiers by Regulation Allowances Schools: 100% to 25% SED (76 Schools) Same $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. (*SCE lower to match Title 1) Schools: 25% to 10% SED (3 schools) No $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Item Two: 09-10 Stimulus – Differentiated Funding Title One Lowest Range (35%) and Tiers by SCUSD District SDE Average (67%) and Regulation Guidances Schools: 100% to 67 % SED More $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. (49 schools) Schools: 66% to 35% % SED (22 schools) Less $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Schools: 34% to 10% SED (8 schools) (3 currently have no low-income funds) No $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Item Three: 10-11 Con App – Differentiated Funding Title One Lowest Range (35%) and Tiers by Poverty Concentration and Regulation Priorities Schools: 100% to 75% SED (42 schools) More $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Schools: 74% to 67% SED (7 schools) Same $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Schools: 66% to 35% SED (22 schools) Less $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. Schools: 34% to 10% SED (8 schools) (3 currently have no funds from SED counts) No $’s Per Free and Reduced Lunch Count. These examples assume that all Title 1 funded schools will see an increase next year from historical funding levels due to the federal stimulus. The amount of this increase is one topic for discussion. SCE schools will see some reductions next year due to equity adjustments and ineligibility for the stimulus. With this proposal, 10-11 funding would increase for higher poverty concentration schools, remain the same for middle concentrations, decrease for lower concentrations and end for the lowest concentration.
