It combines a strong core curriculum with a wide selection of electives. Core classes develop essential business knowledge, while electives allow students to explore personal interests and build a single or double major. During the ???rst year of the program, the core curriculum teaches critical skills such as ???nance, marketing, management, and operations. In the second year, students build on this base by selecting from nearly 200 elective courses. The breadth and depth of the core courses and electives enable students to take either a multidisciplinary approach or delve deeply into a single area. Throughout the program, classroom learning is complemented by hands-on experiences to foster leadership, communication, and collaborative skills. Wharton students can shape their academic experience to meet their personal career goals by pursuing 19 majors and several formal options for specialized study. Wharton has more academic departments that are nationally ranked in the top 10 than any other business school. Approximately 10 percent of the class designs an individualized major to suit their speci???c professional interests. Wharton Faculty Wharton has the world???s largest and most published business school faculty with 250+ standing and associated faculty members. Working across Wharton???s 11 academic departments and more than 24 major research centers and initiatives, these faculty members bring a high level of interdisciplinary knowledge to bear on their research. Collaborating with the 12 world-class schools of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton/INSEAD Alliance, Wharton faculty create a powerful research nexus globally connected across Philadelphia, San Francisco, Singapore, and Fontainebleau. Faculty work is disseminated throughout the global business community through publications, conferences, and online resources???in???uencing governments, economic policy, and business practice. Graduate and undergraduate students, as well as senior executives, bene???t from this emerging research and are able to transform organizations across the globe as Wharton alumni. In addition, Knowledge@Wharton, the School???s free biweekly, online business journal, provides worldwide access to Wharton's cutting-edge research and in???uential ideas, with more than 1 million subscribers in 189 countries. The majors offered by Wharton???s departments include: Accounting Business and Public Policy Entrepreneurial Management Environmental and Risk Management Finance Health Care Management Human Resource and Organizational Management Information: Strategy and Economics Insurance and Risk Management Legal Studies and Business Ethics Managing Electronic Commerce Marketing Marketing and Operations Management Multinational Management Operations and Information Management Real Estate Statistics Strategic Management Individualized Major 4 | W H A RTO N OV E R V I E W Knowledge@Wharton is now offered in English, Spanish, Chinese, Indian, and Portuguese editions. Your Recruiting Relationship Manager is your primary resource for recruiting at Wharton and will assist you throughout the year. The following pages highlight a variety of resources to help your company develop a strategy and link to talent for fulltime, internship, and advanced level positions. More details can be found on our website at http://employer.wharton.upenn.edu. Meeting and Networking with Students Second-Year Networking Expos Second-Year Networking Expos are open forums that provide employers with maximum exposure to second-year students. Because second-year students have had ample time to do industry research and are consequently more targeted in their job searches, the format of the Networking Expos focuses on direct student-employer interaction rather than broad informational presentations. Companies targeting second-year students may participate in either a Networking Expo or a Combined First- and Second-Year Employer Information Session. Please refer to page 17 for policies regarding recruiting events. Structure Your Recruiting Relationship Manager is your primary resource for recruiting at Wharton and will help your company develop a strategy and link to talent for full-time, internship, and advanced level positions. Networking Expos are held in a large reception hall on campus. Students can move freely from one company to another, and employers can meet with more students than a single-company presentation would typically allow. The timing of Second-Year Networking Expos is advantageous for full-time hiring, as these events are scheduled at the beginning of the full-time recruiting season. Dates & Times There are four Second-Year Networking Expos scheduled in the fall. ??? ??? ??? ??? Friday, September 19, 2008 (10:00 am ??? 12:00 pm EDT) Friday, September 19, 2008 (2:00 pm ??? 4:00 pm EDT) Monday, September 22, 2008 (5:30 ??? 7:30 pm EDT) Tuesday, September 23, 2008 (5:30 ??? 7:30 pm EDT) To obtain further information or discuss your company???s involvement in one of the Networking Expos, contact your Recruiting Relationship Manager. 6 | R E C R U I T I N G AT W H A RTO N Employer Information Sessions An Employer Information Session (EIS) is an educational presentation that allows companies to share information about possible career paths for MBAs at their ???rm. Companies targeting both ???rst- and second-year students can hold a Combined EIS (a presentation for ???rst- and second-year students), or alternatively, participate in a Second-Year Networking Expo and hold a First-Year Only EIS. Structure & Timing Technology All classrooms in Huntsman Hall are equipped with AV technology, which is available to you at no cost. If you are holding your presentation at an off-campus location, you must contact that venue directly to obtain information on the use of AV equipment. Advertising There are a number of ways to advertise your company???s presence on campus. Our of???ce will post a presentation description, as provided by the company, to the student calendar, SPIKE. Additional options include posting an advertisement in the Wharton Journal and/or purchasing a Student Mailbox Drop. Please contact Corporate Advertising Services for details on these options once your EIS is con???rmed. They can be reached at 626.319.4013 or www.corpadservices.org. Employer Presentation Materials EISs typically consist of both a formal presentation and time for Q&A. To keep the session dynamic and productive, we recommend that companies limit the formal presentation to 20-25 minutes, reserving the rest of the session for student questions and discussions. EISs are designed to be educational and may include mini case studies, panels, or discussions on current business issues affecting the company. Companies should avoid general overviews of their organization, as many students have conducted research on the company prior to the event. These sessions are most successful when line managers, as well as recent Wharton graduates, are present to share their experiences. Planning Your Event If your company is holding an EIS off campus, please contact that venue directly for shipping details. If your company is holding an EIS in Huntsman Hall, please contact Corporate Advertising Services at 626.319.4013 or corpadservices@wharton.upenn.edu for shipping and rate information. For a fee, Corporate Advertising Services will store and deliver your presentation materials to the event location. Please note that presentation materials must arrive at least three days prior to your EIS or an express charge will be added on to your order. On- and off-campus EISs and other on- and off-campus recruiting events may be scheduled Monday through Thursday in the afternoon or evening. Your Recruiting Relationship Manager will work with you to ???nd a suitable day and time. For a full explanation of dates, guidelines, restrictions, and blackout periods, please refer to the MBA Recruiting Policies (p. 16). Dates/Times ??? October 27, 2008 ??? December 5, 2008 ??? For information on off-campus venues, please see http://employer.wharton.upenn.edu/recruiting/information/hotels.cfm. On-Campus???There is no charge for using classroom space in Huntsman Hall; however, companies are not permitted to provide food or beverages in the classrooms. Off-Campus???If you are using an off-campus venue, you must contact that venue directly to reserve a date and time, as well as arrange catering and AV equipment needs. Our students provide global perspective, technical skills, and innovative leadership to the companies for which they work. There are many ways to interact with students as part of your overall recruiting strategy. Partnering with student clubs, participating in Wharton MBA Conferences, and involving your company in a Career Trek can further expose your organization to Wharton talent and create a stronger relationship with the Wharton School. Partnering with Student Clubs The Wharton Graduate Association (WGA) is the graduate student government organization. All students at Wharton are eligible to become WGA members and many hold leadership positions. Under the WGA umbrella, more than 100 professional, community service, international/cultural, and social/special interest clubs are organized and run by students. Professional clubs connect students who share similar interests and career goals, as well as link those students with alumni and professionals in the relevant ???elds. Some examples of professional clubs include Finance, Health Care, Marketing, Real Estate and Social Impact. Professional clubs provide a formal and informal career network, educational programming and career resources. Prior to the start of the academic year, each club is encouraged to set an agenda of events for the education of its members. Social, international, and cultural organizations like the Wharton HispanicAmerican MBA Association, Out for Business (the gay and lesbian student association), and the Wharton African Students Association nurture an appreciation for diverse groups, while providing support for students who share similar backgrounds. The WGA is also comprised of student organizations that are based on geographic preferences such as the Asia, Europa, Philly, and West Coast Clubs. Clubs ???nd employer participation a key component to the success of their events. For further details on the various clubs and information regarding the WGA, please visit the WGA website at http://wga.wharton.upenn.edu. Wharton MBA Conferences Each year, Wharton students plan conferences that attract in???uential international executives from both the public and private sectors and help to make Wharton a vibrant international hub for the exchange of business knowledge. Conferences attract more than 5,000 executives, scholars, policy makers, MBA students, and alumni each year. These signature events provide a forum to explore ideas, trends, and challenges related to business, government, and policy. Most conferences are held in Philadelphia between October and March. Annual MBA conferences include: Consulting Conference Energy Conference Entrepreneurship Conference Finance Conference General Management Conference Global Business Forums: African Business Forum Asia Business Conference Wharton India Economic Forum Health Care Business Conference Investment Management Conference Marketing Conference Media & Entertainment Conference Private Equity and Venture Capital Conference Restructuring Conference Social Impact Management Conference Technology Conference Wharton Women in Business Conference Whitney M. Young, Jr. Conference (sponsored by the Wharton African-American Students Association) For more information on any of these conferences, please contact the MBA Program Of???ce at 215.898.8834 or mbaprogram@wharton.upenn.edu. 8 | R E C R U I T I N G AT W H A RTO N Career Treks Career Treks are student-managed visits to companies in various U.S. and international cities for the purposes of education and networking. The goal of Career Treks is to provide students access to companies or divisions that may not recruit on campus, build industry knowledge and foster a stronger job search network. This program also allows companies the opportunity to access Wharton talent and build a stronger relationship with the Wharton School. The scope of this program is inclusive of all industries. Company selection is based on student committee interest and includes sectors such as Health Care, Media & Entertainment, Private Equity, Real Estate, Social Impact, and Technology. Involving Wharton Alumni in the Recruiting Process Many recruiting organizations ???nd that their communication with students can be enhanced by utilizing alumni who work within their organization. Wharton MBA alumni provide invaluable recruiting assistance by participating in the following events or programs: Employer Information Sessions and Second-Year Networking Expos It is advantageous for Wharton alumni to participate in Employer Information Sessions and Second-Year Networking Expos. They add value by sharing how their experiences at Wharton enabled them to contribute to their current employer and position. Wharton Team Captains Assigning a Wharton alumnus(a) as a recruiting team captain is an effective way to augment your ???rm???s recruiting process. Wharton team captains often act as a primary liaison to the student body, organize campus visits, and/or oversee recruiting at Wharton. Educational Events MBA Career Management and the Wharton professional/af???nity clubs and conferences look to alumni from various industries to participate in student programs, including industry panels, resume workshops, and mock interviews. Participating alumni offer valuable perspectives on how students can translate their Wharton experience during the recruiting and career decision-making process. R E C R U I T I N G AT W H A RTO N | 9 RECRUITING AT WHARTON Interviewing and Scheduling Interviewing on or near campus maximizes your organization???s exposure to Wharton talent. It is an ef???cient method to assess multiple students??? skills and interests. Interviews can be held on campus or off campus at a location of the employer???s choice. There are no fees associated with reserving on-campus interviewing space or conducting on-campus interviews. Once your interview date is con???rmed and scheduling begins, your Recruiting Relationship Manager will send you information regarding logistics for the day of interviews. We strongly encourage that all interviewers review the MBA Recruiting Policies (p.16) prior to their interview date. Dates Full-time interviewing begins on October 10, 2008, and continues throughout the academic year, with the exception of the blackout dates outlined in the MBA Recruiting Calendar (p.14). Interviewing of the ???rst-year class begins on January 23, 2009, the start of our Dedicated Interviewing Period (DIP). After DIP, ???rst-year interviewing continues on Fridays throughout the academic year. Intern interviews can also be held off campus in Philadelphia, Monday-Thursday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. For a full explanation of dates, guidelines, restrictions, and blackout periods please refer to the MBA Recruiting Policies (p.16). Scheduling Scheduling interviews and collecting resumes is easily done through CareerPath, our online recruiting system. Through this system companies can enter job descriptions, view resumes, and select candidates to interview. Access to CareerPath requires registration through the MBA Career Management website. All schedule formats need to be fully adhered to once student sign-ups begin. A typical schedule begins at 8:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm. Bid and Pre-Select Candidate Allocation Both recruiters and students have found bidding to be a valuable method for students to signal strong interest in an employer. Students may bid points for a speci???ed number of guaranteed interview slots prior to the employer pre-selection process. Students who have placed a successful bid for an interview slot are obliged to sign up for and attend that interview. MBA Career Management strongly encourages employers to consider a minimum of 25 percent bidding as a complement to their pre-select schedules, and at its discretion can require employers to allocate a portion of their interview schedules to student bidding. Employers are requested to specify eligibility requirements (such as U.S. work authorization) for all positions, and students who "win" an interview slot via bidding must meet those requirements. Companies are required to interview all students who meet the eligibility requirements and win slots via bidding. An example of a schedule incorporating 25 percent bid slots. INTERVIEW DURATION 30 minutes 45 minutes 60 minutes 30 minutes ???back-to-back??? 45 minutes ???back-to-back??? While it is at the company???s full discretion to allow walk-in interviews, we strongly encourage the practice, because it allows companies to ???ll open slots with interested students. To allow walk-in interviews, you must contact your Recruiting Relationship Manager at least two business days prior to the scheduled interview date. Interested students will submit their resumes to MBA Career Management the day before the scheduled interview date. We will provide the interviewer with the resumes of all interested students on the morning of their interview. The interviewer may select any of these students to ???ll open time slots, but is not required to do so. The on-campus recruiting staff will contact students who have been selected to ???ll interview slots. MBA Career Management does not process walk-in requests for off-campus interviews, since these interviews are held at various locations around Philadelphia. It is important to note that the student is responsible for completing all of the necessary paperwork for employment as a summer intern in the United States. With their cross-cultural business acumen, multiple language skills, and global experience, international students at Wharton can contribute to your organization in many ways. International Hiring Wharton???s international students possess invaluable international leadership insight, managerial experience, and cultural perspective. With their cross-cultural business acumen, multiple language skills, and global experience, international students at Wharton can contribute to your organization in many ways. Approximately 40 percent of Wharton students are international, representing over 70 different countries. Many international students at Wharton have worked in the United States, while others have signi???cant experience with leading multinational corporations and U.S. companies abroad. International students hold either an F-1 or a J-1 student visa while studying in the United States. Students with either type of visa are permitted to work as summer interns as well as full-time employees after obtaining the required employment authorization. Most international students have the option to apply for either Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT). The employer is not involved with either training program. For both CPT and OPT, students work directly with the Of???ce of International Programs for guidance on the appropriate work authorization. Hiring International Students as Full-time Employees International students seeking to work in the United States following graduation must coordinate with their sponsoring employer to apply for 9-12 months of OPT (depending on the amount of time used for their internship) or an H1-B visa through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The H1-B visa, which authorizes the student to work in the United States for three years, is renewable for a total of up to six years, and the sponsoring employer needs to assist the student through the application process. Please refer to the Of???ce of International Programs??? website, http://www.upenn.edu/oip/iss for additional information on the process. Class Attendance Students may not miss class or academic commitments for full-time or internship interviews, recruiting events, or travel related to those activities. Employers cannot require a student, as a condition of his or her employment candidacy, to interview at a time that con???icts with his or her individual academic schedule. An employer's in???exibility on this issue will be considered a violation of Wharton's recruiting policies. In order to avoid class con???icts, MBA Career Management recommends that all ???rst-year interviews outside of the Dedicated Interview Period take place on Fridays and Saturdays or on weekday afternoons/evenings from 3:00 to 9:00 pm in Philadelphia. Wharton Grade Disclosure Policy Wharton students are free to disclose any aspect of their own academic transcripts to prospective employers, or any other interested parties, and are encouraged to do so. Such disclosure is a legal right, and it is Wharton???s policy to protect this right. Prospective employers are free to request from students any aspect of their academic transcripts. Details of Wharton???s MBA grading system can be found at http://employer.wharton.upenn.edu/recruiting/wgs.cfm. The MBA recruiting policies optimize employers??? effectiveness when recruiting Wharton MBA talent, as well as enable a productive and positive experience for students at Wharton. 16 | MBA RECRUITING POLICIES Please see the Glossary of Key Terms on page 24 for de???nitions relevant to the MBA Recruiting Policies. Recruiting Events All Recruiting Events should be coordinated through MBA Career Management and/or student club leaders to ensure effective scheduling and appropriate content. International of???ces of U.S. domestic ???rms, as well as all international companies, will be held to the same recruiting schedule and requirements placed on U.S. of???ces/U.S. ???rms, barring exceptions pre-approved by MBA Career Management. Please refer to the Glossary of Key Terms on page 24 for de???nitions relevant to all recruiting events, and to the MBA Recruiting Calendar on page 14 for all recruiting ???blackout??? dates when scheduling ???rst- and second-year recruiting events. Events targeted toward ???rst-year students and planned for Quarter 1 (from Wednesday, September 3, 2008, through Wednesday, October 22, 2008) must be multi-???rm and educational events, not Recruiting Events. Interview and Offer Policies Second-Year Interview Dates and Offers The Focused Interview Period (FIP) begins Friday, October 10, 2008, and runs through Wednesday, October 15, 2008, including Saturday, October 11, 2008. During FIP, all interviews must occur in Philadelphia. Recruiting will continue on a rolling basis throughout the rest of the academic year. Earliest Offer Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 5:00 pm EDT To allow students suf???cient time to properly consider various opportunities, as well as allow employers suf???cient time to evaluate candidates, all employers are required to observe a Second-Year MBA Earliest Offer Day. Second-year full-time offers (verbal or written, accepts and declines) cannot be made until this Earliest Offer Day. An exception is made for offers extended to a ???rm???s summer interns. No second-year student can accept an offer before October 15, 2008, 5:00 pm EDT. Earliest Decision Date: Friday, December 5th, 2008, at 5:00 pm EST Second-years must be given until the Second-Year MBA Earliest Decision Day, or three weeks from the date of the written offer, whichever is later, to respond to offers of employment. Students cannot be required to indicate acceptance of an offer until a written communication (e.g. mailed letter, fax or e-mail) is received. First-Year Interview Dates and Offers The Dedicated Interview Period (DIP) for ???rst-years runs Friday, January 23, 2009 to Friday, February 6, 2009. Interviews continue all day on Fridays, and on weekdays off campus from 3:00 - 9:00 pm thereafter in order to comply with the class attendance policy. All interviews during DIP, excluding the dedicated second-round dates, must take place in Philadelphia to avoid scheduling con???icts. MBA RECRUITING POLICIES | 17 MBA RECRUITING POLICIES No interviewing of ???rst-year students may occur prior to DIP. (This includes onand off-campus interviews.) Companies may conduct interviews either at Wharton???s On-Campus Recruiting Suite (OCRS), or off-site at a number of local Philadelphia hotels (p. 23). Please note several recruiting ???blackout??? dates listed on the MBA Recruiting Calendar (p. 14) that coincide with school holidays and exam periods. ??? First rounds Tuesday, January 27, 2009 with second rounds Wednesday, January 28, 2009 (or later) No recruiting events (e.g., private events or dinners) can take place between the date of an individual company???s ???rst-round interviews and the end of DIP ??? Friday February 6, 2009, at 5:00 pm EST. Earliest Offer Date: Friday, January 30, 2009, at 5:00 pm EST Second Round Interviews Second round interviews can be held at any time during DIP in Philadelphia. Friday, January 30, 2009 and Thursday and Friday, February 5 and 6, 2009 are reserved for out of town interviews. Interviews can occur outside of Philadelphia on Fridays and Saturdays after DIP. In order to facilitate second round interview scheduling students should be offered an alternative interview date and time. Outside of DIP interviews must not con???ict with academic schedules. Investment Banks will be able to choose one of the following date sequences: ??? First rounds Monday, January 26, 2009 with second rounds Thursday, January 29, 2009 (or later), or To allow students suf???cient time to properly consider various opportunities, as well as allow employers suf???cient time to evaluate candidates, all employers are required to observe a First-Year MBA Earliest Offer Day. First-year internship offers (verbal or written, accepts and declines) cannot be made until this Earliest Offer Day. Earliest Decision Date: Friday, February 20, 2009 at 5:00 pm EST First-years must be given until the First-Year MBA Earliest Decision Day or two weeks from the date of the written offer, whichever is later; offer letters must re???ect these dates. Students cannot be required to indicate acceptance of an offer until a written communication (e.g., mailed letter, fax or e-mail) is received. 18 | MBA RECRUITING POLICIES Pre-MBA Fellowships/Internships All pre-MBA fellowships/internships and resulting offers or contracts made prior to Wednesday, July 30, 2008, the start of the MBA program, are between the company and the student and preclude involvement of the MBA Career Management Of???ce and Recruiting Policies. Rescinded Offers and Delayed Start Dates Rescinded offers and delayed start dates have a deleterious effect on both the student(s) involved and the company???s reputation on campus, as well as their relationship with Wharton. In order to minimize these instances, we strictly enforce policies that apply to rescinded or delayed offers. Once an offer (verbal or written) is made to a student, it cannot be withdrawn without being considered a violation of Wharton???s Recruiting Policies. If a company believes it has a valid reason to withdraw an offer, it can appeal its rule violation to the Director of MBA Career Management. The penalty for rescinding an offer will be up to the equivalent of two rule violations, as per the enforcement guidelines (p. 20). Delayed start dates will not be considered ???de facto rescinded offers??? for a period of up to four months from the original start date for full-time positions (or, if no start date was given, for up to eight months from the date of graduation); subsequently they will be treated as rescinded offers. MBA RECRUITING POLICIES | 19 MBA RECRUITING POLICIES Enforcement of Wharton???s Recruiting Policies Should a company violate Wharton???s Recruiting Policies, the following corrective steps will be taken: ??? A ???rst-time rule violation will result in a letter from the Director of MBA Career Management to the senior management of the company informing the company of the guideline violation and placing the company on probation. Written company con???rmation of the violation notice and associated probation is required ??? A second-time violation will result in restriction of the company???s access to students, including but not limited to panel/industry discussions, Employer Information Sessions, student club events and conferences or other general recruiting activity ??? A third-time violation will result in a meeting between Wharton and company senior management, and potential exclusion of the company from any on-campus recruiting activity at Wharton for a period of one year ??? If there are no subsequent violations within a two-year period after the violation the company will be removed from probation ??? Violations will be fully communicated to the Wharton community and listed on our internal website for a three-year period The goal of these recruiting policies is to provide all employers with a level playing ???eld and to conduct a fair recruiting process that takes into consideration the needs and requirements of our students. We have also created and implemented a set of policies that govern student behavior throughout the on- and off-campus recruiting process. These policies include procedures for walk-in interviews, cancellations, late cancellations, no shows and reneging on accepted offers. (For more information on recruiting policies that pertain to Wharton MBA students, please link to http://employer.wharton.upenn.edu/recruiting/information/policies.cfm.) Students are subject to penalties for violation of these policies, and employers who conduct interviews off-campus are requested to notify MBA Career Management of all student interview cancellations, late cancellations and noshows. We believe that a strong combination of student and employer recruiting policies will allow employers to develop a valuable long-term relationship with Wharton, as well as provide MBA students with a maximum number of career opportunities. The goal of these recruiting policies is to provide all employers with a level playing ???eld and to conduct a fair recruiting process that takes into consideration the needs and requirements of our students. 20 | MBA RECRUITING POLICIES Employer Best Practices As a result of student and employer feedback, MBA Career Management has compiled a list of employer best practices that enable companies to effectively pursue their recruiting goals at Wharton, establish a set of appropriate expectations with regard to their recruiting practices, and build a strong reputation among students. Although the following are not of???cial Wharton Recruiting Policies, we hope that each Wharton employer will adhere to these guidelines as a courtesy to students and to MBA Career Management. Scheduling and Logistics First-Year Recruiting During and after the Dedicated Interview Period (DIP), we strongly advise companies to notify all students at the same time regarding invites/offers/declines for second-round interviews. Companies may choose to select a group of alternates who remain on a waiting list for second-round interviews, but they should communicate the stand-by status, as well as provide speci???c dates for accept/reject decisions, if possible. We do not recommend that companies pursue a policy of ???rolling invitations??? for second-round interviews. We strongly encourage all employers to communicate to students the possible dates and/or of???ce locations for second-round interviews during the ???rst-round interview process. Employers should also advise MBA Career Management of second-round interview date(s) and location(s). While second-round interviews cannot be accommodated on campus through MBA Career Management due to space constraints, companies are encouraged to conduct second-round interviews in Philadelphia at off-campus locations (please refer to list of local hotels at http://employer.wharton.upenn.edu/ recruiting/information/hotels.cfm). All interview schedules become ???nal three days prior to the interview date. To maximize organizational ef???ciency once an interview schedule has become ???nal, any revisions needed to accommodate a change in an interviewer???s travel plans must be made by the employer rather than by MBA Career Management. Please advise your Wharton Recruiting Relationship Manager of any special travel arrangements and/or schedule changes as soon as they arise, or at least prior to interview scheduling (seven days prior to the date of interviews). Travel Times Please allow at least two hours from the conclusion of your last interview at Wharton to your ???ight time at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and at least 30 minutes to travel from Wharton to 30th Street Station (for Amtrak or NJ Transit). As a general rule, interviewers have not found it possible to conclude interviews at 5:00 pm and make a 6:00 pm PHL ???ight departure. Second-Year Recruiting Employers are requested to communicate a candidate???s status (second-round invite, offer, decline, hold, or ???alternate??? status) within three weeks of the interview date, resume drop deadline, or job posting deadline. Employers are also strongly encouraged to ???nalize and communicate full-time offers to summer interns prior to starting full-time recruiting.
