The Merage Difference
The 21st century is a time of unprecedented economic and technological change. Today’s successful companies and the top organizations of the future are those able to anticipate change, position themselves accurately in their respective marketplaces, and capitalize on it. Every business must recognize and confront a global economy that presents increasing opportunities and competitive threats.
The challenge for graduate schools of business, as they address those future global marketplaces, is not just to impart the fundamentals but teach how to apply them to the dynamic world of business. The Paul Merage School of Business is meeting this challenge by structuring our programs around three key business drivers:
R E C O G N I Z E D FO R E XC E L L E N C E
The Merage School offers four dynamic MBA programs teaching leadership through in class and on site experiences with real world business problems. While the School is relatively young, it consistently ranks among the top 10% of all AACSB accredited programs through exceptional student recruitment, world class faculty and close ties to the business community. In 2008, Financial Times ranked the Merage School #3 for IT, #5 for e Business, and #2 for the percentage of female faculty. In 2007, our EMBA Program was ranked #11 in the U.S. and faculty research ranked #20 internationally.

Interview Schedules
On-campus recruiting is one of the most effective ways to recruit MBAs at Merage. Interviews are scheduled Monday through Friday and typically run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in the MBA Career Center. Extended hours are available upon request. Refreshments are provided throughout the day and lunch is provided for full-day schedules. Interview schedules may be customized to accommodate the length of interviews you prefer. Let us know your special needs when you request your
Job Offers
We believe it is important to allow candidates adequate time to make thoughtful decisions on job offers. It is important that the student and the company negotiate a mutually agreeable time frame for considering and making a career decision. We recommend giving graduating students until January 30th or at least three weeks from the time a written offer is provided, whichever is later. First-year students should be given until March 15, or at least one week from the time a written offer is provided, which ever is longer, to decide on an internship offer.
Job Descriptions
All recruiting begins with the submission of a detailed job description that includes an overview of your firm, position responsibilities, and candidate requirements. For on-campus recruiting we request your job descriptions be submitted four to six weeks prior to your preferred recruiting dates. Recruiting schedules become active for student sign-ups only after complete job descriptions are received by our office.
recruiting dates and we will accommodate you.
Second Round Interviews
Second round interviews typically take place at the employer’s location. However, the MBA Career Center may also be used. We recommend that you coordinate your second round interviews with our academic calendar to ensure that you avoid scheduling conflicts that may cause students to miss class.

Recruiting International Students
The Merage School takes pride in our ability to attract top MBA talent from around the world. Our international students comprise nearly 30% of our student population. They have graduated from top universities in their home countries, have unique multiple language capabilities, cross-national perspectives, and functional and industry expertise.
Optional Practical Training and Full-Time Employment After Graduation
Optional Practical Training (OPT) provides international students holding an F-1 visa authorization to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months following graduation on either a full or part-time basis. As with CPT there is no special paperwork or additional requirements for the employer during the hiring process. Students must obtain a work

card from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to be eligible for this option.
“The Merage School provides the competitive advantage its graduates will need to be successful in this complex and ever changing business world.”
Ed Fuller President & Managing Director Marriott International Lodging
U.S. law provides several ways for employers to hire international MBA students and graduates.
H-1B Visas
During the OPT period, employers can choose to extend a graduate’s work assignment by sponsoring them for a work visa. The H-1B is the most popular work visa available to international graduates. The employer must submit a visa petition to the USCIS and approvals can take as little as two weeks. Normal processing times can vary depending on the work location. However, the USCIS has a 15-day premium processing option for an extra filing fee.
Curricular Practical Training and Internships
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) provides international students holding an F-1 visa authorization to work at paid, full-time summer internships and part-time jobs during the second year of their MBA program. Employers go through the same process needed for hiring domestic students. However, students must enroll in a special course to meet the CPT eligibility requirements.
