The Institute of Bankers in Ireland is the professional education body for the banking and financial services sector in Ireland. Programme Mission

The Association of Compliance Officers of Ireland (ACOI)
ACOI is the professional body for compliance professionals. Its main objectives are to provide a forum for compliance officers assist members to fulfil their duties facilitate training and education promote knowledge and understanding of compliance and business ethics.

Examination and Assessment Semester 4
Strategic Implementation & Management of Change Risk Management Project Management Management for Compliance Risk Information Systems Examinations are held mid-way and at the end of each semester. The final degree award is determined from the composite grade for all module assessments across all four semesters of the programme. Most individual modules are assessed on a mixture of continuous assessment and written examinations.

Certified Banker Designation
Members of the Institute of Bankers who successfully gain the MBA qualification and who have at least 3 years relevant work experience are eligible to apply for designation as a ‘Certified Banker’. The Certified Banker (CeB) designation is the most prestigious exam-based professional designation offered by the Institute. Those awarded this designation have the education and experience for a wide range of managerial roles in banking and financial services.
Teaching Faculty
The teaching faculty will include both academics from UCD Smurfit School as well as leading practitioners.
Location
All lectures take place in the Education Centre, Institute of Bankers’ School of Professional Finance at 1 North Wall Quay, Dublin. Lectures will generally take place two evenings per week from 5:30 pm to 9:45 pm. In addition, a limited number of intensive 3-4 day modules may also be included.
Teaching /Learning Methodology
At UCD Smurfit School equal weight is given to formal and informal education. Learning is both classroom based and project-based, using experiences and expertise to solve business challenges. Both individual and team-based assignments form the backbone of the course through lectures, casework and projects. Diversity reigns with students sharing different backgrounds and experiences, personalities and learning styles in a true reflection of the workplace. Lectures, discursive and interactive, projects and cases help students apply what they learn to genuine problems experienced at work. This bridges the gap between the School and the workplace. Being able to draw upon skills students learn helps them deal with issues in the workplace more effectively.

Admissions are administered by the Institute of Bankers. Please complete the MBA programme application form and submit, together with supporting documents. Applications forms may be downloaded from the Institute web site at www.bankers.ie/emba or may be completed on-line. Candidates will be expected to attend an admissions interview. Emphasis is placed on the candidate’s objectives in undertaking the programme, their commitment to it and their ability to contribute to a team-based learning environment.
