The final degree award is determined from the composite grade for all module assessments across all four semesters of the programme. Certified Banker Designation Members of the Institute of Bankers who successfully gain the MBA qualification and who have at least 3 years relevant work experience are eligible to apply for designation as a ‘Certified Banker’. The Certified Banker (CeB) designation is the most prestigious exam-based professional designation offered by the Institute. Those awarded this designation have the education and experience for a wide range of managerial roles in banking and financial services. Teaching Faculty The teaching faculty will include both academics from UCD Smurfit School as well as leading practitioners. Location All lectures take place in the Education Centre, Institute of Bankers’ School of Professional Finance at 1 North Wall Quay, Dublin. Lectures will generally take place two evenings per week from 5:30 pm to 9:45 pm. In addition, a limited number of intensive 3-4 day modules may also be included. Teaching /Learning Methodology At UCD Smurfit School equal weight is given to formal and informal education. Learning is both classroom based and project-based, using experiences and expertise to solve business challenges. Both individual and team-based assignments form the backbone of the course through lectures, casework and projects.
