Wheelchair Sports South Australia 3 No Limits! March 2008 New Staff Profiles Sport and Recreation Officer Zoe Zweck joins us after recently completing the Sport and Recreation Management degree at the University of South Australia. Originally from the Barossa Valley she now loves living in the heartbeat of Adelaide, Mawson Lakes. She enjoys working as a casual Recreation Assistant for SASRAPID a few nights of the week. Her previous work experience includes being a Recreation Officer at Minda Incorporated as well as working casually at Life. Be in it and the South Australian Olympic Council. She loves watching the Adelaide Crows and most other sporting teams. Zoe likes dancing and playing beach volleyball in her spare time, and is looking forward to being involved in all the different sports and activities that Wheel Chair Sports has to offer Membership Officer Louise Woods joins Wheelchair Sports as our Membership Officer. Louise has spent the last 12 years working as a Mortgage Processor, so is extremely excited to be starting her new career in a role which is much more suited to her – helping people to get out there and get active. Some of you may know Louise from around the place, as she played a few seasons of wheelchair basketball when it was played at ‘The Gardens Recreation Centre’ on Sunday afternoons. She says that she was more of a hindrance than an asset to the team, but, win or lose; she always enjoyed it – due to the good natured sports she played with and against! A very active person, Louise much prefers being involved in sporting activities than watching them on the TV, and as such, she has played many different sports over the years. Although she is a qualified Fitness Instructor, she is currently completing a double degree at University to help further her knowledge, studying ‘Human Movement and Education’. Her current sporting passion is Taekwondo. She has been studying with Rhee Taekwondo for 10 years and has just accepted a role as a ‘Senior Instructor’. Louise would love to hear from/meet all members in time, to help make Wheelchair Sports SA the association YOU want it to be. Accounting Officer Andrea Demetriou joins us as our Accounting officer. She has worked as a customer service representative for a couple years and also as a tax consultant. She was born in Cyprus and at the age of thirteen her family migrated to Australia. She enjoys watching tennis and particularly Marcus Baghdatis who happens to be a Cypriot – “that explains his talent in Tennis and also his great looks”, says Andrea. March 2008 Basketball Trip To Albury/Wodonga Darren Schutz tells of the recent basketball trip: On our recent excursion to Albury/Wodonga we took a hybrid team made up of different players from the local comp. Those players included: Glen Baxter, Sam Germein, Matt McKenzie, Greg Pring, Peter Routleff, Darren Schutz, Shane Waycott, Toyotake Yamauchi and Tim Maloney as coach. We came second, losing the Grand Final after winning all games along the way. Just ran out of energy I think. (May have had something to do with a very late Saturday night by a couple of players, or even the half time foot-long subway eaten by one of the players). ☺ Oh well maybe next year. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ _ Purchase your brand new 2008/2009 Entertainment Book now to receive over $15,000 in valuable offers, valid through 1 June, 2009.
