ROBBER OF 14 BANKS SENTENCED TO 115 MONTHS GREENBELT, Maryland - United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein announces that today U.S. District Court Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. sentenced Douglas Antonio Davis, age 28, of Washington, D.C. to 115 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery. Judge Williams also ordered that Davis pay restitution in the amount of $40,938. According to the agreed statement of facts presented to the court, Davis entered the following banks located in Maryland, handed the tellers a note demanding $50 and $100 bills and fled with a total of $40,938 from the banks: July 23, 2004, Sun Trust Bank, 8211 Ardwick-Ardmore Road, Landover, $1,150; July 26, 2004, BB&T Bank, 10590 Campus Way South, Largo, $1,760; July 26, 2004, BB&T Bank, 9395 Lanham Severn Road, Lanham, $2,143; August 4, 2004, Sun Trust Bank, 8924 Woodyard Road, Clinton, $2,170; August 9, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 3601 St. Barnabas Road, Suitland, $5,550; August 13, 2004, Wachovia Bank, 7700 Landover Road, Landover, $5,056; August 19, 2004, Provident Bank, 1050 Shoppers Way, Largo, $5,150; September 10, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 6400 Belcrest Road, Hyattsville, $4,230; October 1, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 6200 Annapolis Road, Lanham, $3,000; October 1, 2004, Wachovia Bank, 7700 Landover Road, Landover, $1,923; October 18, 2004, Sun Trust Bank, 8211 Ardwick-Ardmore Road, Landover, $1,310; October 28, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 4740 Cherry Hill Road, College Park, $1,300; October 28, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 6107 Greenbelt Road, $3,520; October 28, 2004, Chevy Chase Bank, 5823 Eastern Avenue, Hyattsville, $2,676. Surveillance footage from the October 28 robbery at the Chevy Chase Bank on Greenbelt Road revealed that Davis accompanied co-defendant David Massey in the robbery. Later that day, FBI agents observed Davis, David Massey and co-defendant Dennis Massey exit a vehicle which a witness to an earlier robbery had identified, and enter a residence. The three defendants were
arrested on October 28, 2004 when they left the residence. Dennis Massey was sentenced on September 22, 2005 to 105 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery. David Massey is scheduled to be sentenced on October 13, 2005 after pleading guilty to similar charges. United States Attorney Rod J.
