									EERA e.V., the University of Gothenburg, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft
start a new series of summer schools and offer 70 European research students the chance to
enhance their writing skills within a five days training course.
Participants will work on their own research papers and can earn 7.5 ECTS points by handing in a
full paper after the course. Participation will be free, students from Low GdP countries can apply for
support for housing costs.

Writing Educational Research - Aims of the Course
The course aims at introducing and practicing academic writing in order to educate the next
generation of European educational researchers to write research papers in English. The second
aim is to introduce and educate research students to collaborate in European networks by
furthering their networking within the European educational research space.

The summer school 2010 will take place at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, 14 - 18 June
of 2010. The general format of this 5 day course will be a mix of introductions to academic
writing and writing for English language journals etc. and workshops where students can
practice   and   discuss   with   peers    and   be   supervised   by   experienced    researchers.
The EERSS is a formal course for doctoral students to be given at the University of Gothenburg
and students thus can gain 7.5 ECTS if their paper (according to UG criteria) is accepted.
Applicants should be in the middle of their Doctoral study/Ph.D. programme.
