Senior Project Essay and Presentation Preparation Stages: Due Dates
Lauren Gruber, Tim Bouman, Ian Taylor, and Barry McRaith

All great research papers begin with a question, a question that the researcher/writer cares deeply about. Such
is your first challenge: derive a researchable question about life that genuinely matters to you. Your researchable
question must evolve into your Senior Project. From there, you begin your quest [i.e., research] in search of your
answer (i.e., your argument) to your question. Next, you create a claim and essay which you are responsible for
persuasively arguing. After creating your essay, you will practice for your presentation. Finally, you will present your
project to an independent panel of judges, coordinated by Ms. Mapp of the Development Office.
