As the Payroll Administrator you are responsible for the daily agency payroll
process and functions, in accordance with standard accounting practices and agency
policies. You will work under the direct supervision of the Payroll Supervisor.

    Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll from time sheets; time cards and
     computerized payroll system(s).  Sorts and distributes paychecks to all
     agency employees.

     Performs all data maintenance as required to generate a timely and proper
      payroll. Enters all required data for new employees and ensures accuracy of
      all data.

     Audits batch totals to payroll reports, ADP finished product, staff time cards;
      calculates payroll deposit and taxes; makes payments to TDA, and flex
      spending accounts.

     Ensures that copies of required payroll documentation are on file. Maintains
      job rate log for control on ADP payroll system and prepares current job rate
      lists as requested.

     Creates and distributes reports for budget purposes, for related vacation and
      sick time tracking and for statistical tracking. Provides journal entry
      information for month end closing.

     Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all financial and personal
      information related to individuals, the Finance Department or the agency.

     Performs all other duties as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor. Provides
      support to the Accounting Manager on special projects, as needed. Supports
      a team approach which facilitates the attainment of agency and Finance
      Department goals and objectives.

Associate's Degree in Accounting, with a minimum of three years' payroll and
accounting related experience with background in computerized payroll for 350 or
more employees required. Working knowledge of benefits, accrued sick and
vacation time calculations and expense/liabilities to general ledger preferred. ADP
PC payroll experience a plus.


Requires thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word,
and Powerpoint) with special emphasis on spreadsheet applications and multi-screen
payroll process. ADP experience Preferred.
