successful	
  rollout,

  the

  organisation’s

  Enterprise	
  Data	
  Warehouse.	
  Stuart’s	
  role	
  was	
  to	
  co-­‐
architect	
  the	
  data	
  warehouse,	
  such	
  that	
  the	
  geography	
  dimension	
  could	
  be	
  easily	
  linked	
  
from	
  the	
  internal	
  mapping	
  application.	
  Working	
  closely	
  with	
  the	
  business,	
  this	
  project	
  
ensured	
  that	
  data	
  from	
  various	
  sources	
  was	
  conformed	
  and	
  placed

  the

warehouse,	
  whilst	
  ensuring	
  linkage	
  with	
  the

This	
  Mexico-­‐based	
  project	
  was	
  unusual	
  in	
  that	
  it	
  required	
  the	
  total	
  co-­‐operation	
  of	
  
competing	
  automotive	
  manufacturers,	
  in	
  order	
  to	
  be	
  a	
  success.	
  As	
  Project	
  Manager,	
  
Stuart	
  approached	
  each	
  company	
  with	
  a	
  request	
  to	
  use	
  their	
  car	
  sales	
  data	
  for	
  the	
  
project,	
  in	
  order	
  that	
  each	
  one	
  could	
  determine	
  their	
  market	
  share	
  in	
  each	
  sales	
  
territory.	
  Stuart	
  then	
  had	
  to	
  run	
  the	
  project,	
  which	
  used	
  data	
  conformance,	
  cleansing,	
  
and	
  data	
  warehousing,	
  to	
  produce	
  a	
  consolidated	
  data	
  set.	
  The	
  sales	
  data	
  was	
  presented	
  
on	
  an	
  ArcIMS-­‐based	
  mapping	
  application,	
  where	
  each	
  company	
  could	
  see	
  their	
  sales	
  as	
  a	
  
proportion	
  of	
  the	
  total.	
  The	
  system	
  was	
  hosted	
  in	
  the	
  UK,	
  and	
  was	
  successfully	
  rolled	
  out	
  
to	
  all	
  the	
  manufacturers	
  in	
  Mexico.

Stuart	
  gathered	
  the	
  business	
  requirements	
  as	
  part	
  of	
  the	
  Easimap	
  National	
  Permitting	
  
project.	
  This	
  was	
  intended	
  to	
  enable	
  call	
  centre	
  staff	
  to	
  assess	
  the	
  feasibility	
  of	
  
operations	
  that	
  could	
  be	
  detrimental	
  to	
  the	
  environment,	
  according	
  to	
  proximity	
  with	
  
sensitive	
  sites.	
  Stuart	
  put	
  together	
  demonstrations	
  of	
  how	
  a	
  system	
  could	
  work,	
  along	
  
with	
  the	
  processes	
  of	
  managing	
  business	
  rules.	
  From	
  initiation	
  to	
  rollout,	
  the	
  project	
  
took	
  three	
  months,	
  and	
  is	
  used	
  successfully	
  within	
  the	
  organisation	
  to	
  manage	
  
applications	
  for	
  licensed	
  operations.

This

  project	
  was	
  created	
  to	
  provide	
  information	
  to	
  a	
  leading	
  electricity	
  
distribution	
  company’s	
  customer	
  base,	
  in	
  a	
  time	
  of	
  emergency	
  –	
  for	
  instance,	
  during	
  a	
  
terrorist	
  attack,	
  when	
  supply	
  would	
  be	
  restricted	
  via	
  a	
  rota.	
  The	
  customer	
  would	
  be
