Financing Your Education – Electronic Resources
Each University and College has their own scholarships and awards. Some are entrance scholarships
and may not require an application and others are prestigious awards that do require an application. Be
sure to visit the website of the school you are interested in and check out the scholarships,
bursaries and financial aid available!

Candidates are nominated by high school principals. Recognize students of academic distinction who have

Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarships (2) - $26,000
Candidates are nominated by high school principals. Recognize students of academic distinction who have
made significant contributions to their schools and communities, and demonstrate the potential to become
leaders in society. Students will be an aboriginal, person with a disability or a member of a visible minority.
University of Western National Scholarship Program
Applicants must be applying to Western and have obtained a minimum academic average of 90%. Each high
school can nominate only 4 students.

service as a leader while at York. This scholarship is valued at $38,000.00.

Point Region watershed, maintain a strong academic average, who will be entering their first year of a full time

from this golf tournament will be used to provide the first year of education for a candidate recommended by

Drainage Superintendents Association of Ontario
Applicants must be intending to further their education in an agricultural or water management related field and
must graduate in 2009 with a minimum B average (70% or greater) from an accredited secondary school within
the DSAO Chapter V district. Valued at $600.

Haldimand Federation of Agriculture – applications available in guidance
Each year, the Haldimand Federation of Agriculture sponsors two $500.00 scholarships for students who are
entering college or university and will be studying in the field of agriculture. Applicants must be living in
Haldimand County and must be starting their program in the Fall. The successful candidates must complete the
application and have an interview with a panel of judges. The successful candidates will be presented with a
certificate at commencement exercises.
