Dear Incoming Ninth Graders and Parents,

We are pleased to invite the eighth grade to a special evening at Kennedy High School. On
Thursday, February 3rd at 6:30 p.m., we will have our first meeting for incoming ninth grade parents
and students. The meeting will begin in our auditorium at Kennedy. For those of you who are first
time Kennedy patrons and perhaps are not familiar with our building, the auditorium is located at
the north end of our campus.

The purpose of our evening is twofold. First, we would like the opportunity to visit with you about
Kennedy High School. We want you to know about our school, and meet some of the key people
who can help you and your student with questions or registration procedures. You will also have an
opportunity to meet teachers from each of our departments and learn about our course offerings for
ninth grade as well as course options for the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. In the process of
visiting the departments, you will get a great view of our beautiful facility.

We will distribute the registration forms, along with a packet of information, to all 8th graders
during our middle school visits in January. Our orientation on February 3rd will provide additional
information to you as you begin the high school registration process.

We have also scheduled an additional information session February 14th beginning at 6:15 p.m. The
“Cougar Talks – Special Sessions” is an opportunity for parents to gain additional information on
several programs including performing arts, athletics, and PACT Advanced Placement. The
“Cougar Talks – Special Session” is not meant to be a replacement for February 3rd.

We urge you to attend our orientation and continue your direct involvement in your student’s
educational planning and experiences. Please come and bring your incoming ninth grader. We are
eager to see you Thursday, February 3rd at 6:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Mary Wilcynski, Ph.D.
Principal

If school is cancelled or dismissed early due to inclement weather on February 3rd , the orientation
will be held on Monday, February 7th, at 6:30 p.m.
