LA Department of Education Recognizes Caddo Public Schools Partner
            Capital One Bank Named 2010 Distinguished Partner in Education

Shreveport, LA – Caddo Parish Public Schools has learned that one of its long-standing
community partners, Capital One Bank of Northwest Louisiana, has been chosen to receive the
2010 Distinguished Partners in Education Award. Capital One Bank will be honored, along with
other Louisiana organizations and individuals that contribute to the academic success of students,
at a reception today, at 5:00 p.m., in the Claiborne Building, at 1201 N. 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, in
the Louisiana Purchase Room 1-100.

Given annually by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Louisiana
Department of Education, the Distinguished Partners in Education award recognizes a select
number of businesses, industries, associations, or individuals that have made significant
contributions to education in the state.

“The employees at Capital One Bank are engaged corporate citizens who take the bank’s role as
community catalyst seriously,” said Superintendent Dr. Gerald Dawkins, who nominated Capital
One Bank for the award. “For more than a decade, they have invested of time, talent and treasure
in programs that enhance the lives of children in Caddo’s public schools. Many students have
benefited from their active participation and educational outreach efforts.”

During the last year, Capital One Bank has provided support for the following educational initiatives
in Caddo Parish Public Schools:

       Teacher of the Year Recognition Program
       Academic Excellence Dual Enrollment Program
       Lighthouse after-school program
       Alliance for Education
       Caddo Career and Technology Center Foundation Scholarship Program
