She enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as outdoor activities, such as hiking with Keith. Since at least third grade, Emily has been heavily involved with music. She played piano, violin, guitar, and even danced and sung in some productions in high school. She eventually decided that the spotlight was not her calling and Emily attended Lebanon Valley College to major in her true love, Music Recording Technology. She has worked as a Sound Engineer for several Hersheypark shows since summer of 2007, including shows produced by Matt Davenport Producitons and Windish Music. She hopes to soon relocate to Nashville. without running into an Annville police officer, Lebanon Valley College public safety, or a resident assistant or director who were patrolling the campus to prevent any such "riots" from occurring once again. Students were bored, and some were even afraid to venture out of their rooms to larger gatherings for fear of getting into unnecessary and unwarranted trouble. Thus was the beginning of what was supposed to be a low-key and boring evening. Emily had been dealing with drama within the lives of friends close to her during the hours following her last class. After helping to settle the situation she decided that she would take a break from the stresses of the week and visit the ever famous Weimer House; home to her friends JJ, Mark, and Brandon. She made a phone call to a friend and the two of them walked across the street to the backdoor of the house. What happened next was almost something one would see in a sappy romantic comedy. Emily stepped through the door of the house in time to see her friend Pat run around the corner with an extremely attractive stranger in close pursuit. She felt an instant attraction to him... love at first sight if one would be so bold to suggest. For the first time in her life she found the courage to approach him first. "Hi, you don’t go to school here do you?" She felt stupid after she’d asked it but it was too late. He answered her simply stating, "No, I’m friends with Brandon and just came to visit this weekend for ValleyFest." Introductions were made and she found out his name was Keith. Keith and Emily continued conversation and found themselves by each other’s side for the duration of the get-together, taking an occasional walk to turkey hill for a bottle of water, or a can of Chefboyrdee Beefaroni. When Emily finally realized that she needed to get some sleep for the choir rehearsal that was to be held early the next morning, Keith offered to walk her back to her dorm building. They stepped outside into the pouring rain and as they came to the street, Keith spun around in the street to face Emily and proceeded to give her a romantic kiss in the rain. They walked the rest of the way to her dorm building and exchanged phone numbers and made plans to meet for breakfast the next morning after Emily was finished with choir rehearsal. Emily’s roommate, Christine, having seen her and Keith together earlier in the evening, was eager to hear the details of her new friend. Christine asked Emily if she would actually call Keith in the morning and at first Emily was unsure. By the time Emily had woken up the next morning Keith James Keith was born on August 10, 1983. He was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley and enjoys hiking the many branches of the Appalachian trails that are located nearby. Before the age of ten, Keith discovered his passion for drumming and decided to pursue a career as a full-time musician. Keith is currently working as a drum instructor at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts. Keith also teaches private lessons in various places across the Lehigh Valley, as well as maintains the ability to secure gigs with bands and performers such as the Blues Brotherhood, John Powers, Todd Wolfe and Mike Dugan, just to name a few. How They Met On Friday, April 29th, 2005 Lebanon Valley College held its annual ValleyFest, a weekend usually packed full of entertainment, games and all sorts of various activities for the masses. However, on that particular evening the weather wasn’t so co-operative. It was miserably rainy and any outdoor events planned for the evening were canceled. A supposed "riot" that occurred during ValleyFest the previous year, had turned the campus into what felt like a police state to the students. No one could walk ten feet and finished getting ready for choir rehearsal, Christine had convinced her that she should call Keith and go to breakfast with him. So she did. After breakfast Keith and Emily continued to talk and get to know one another, attending the ValleyFest activities together. They had discovered throughout the day that they had much in common. Keith was a drummer, pursuing a music career, while Emily was studying Music Recording Technology in college. They had also discovered that they were both Christians, which for Keith, had solidified his desire to begin dating Emily. By the end of the weekend he had asked to see her again and thus began their three and a half year journey towards their engagement. And now their wedding... It wasn‟t until I heard Keith‟s voice over the house speakers that my heart skipped a beat as I turned around and everything, all at once, fell in place in my mind. It was simply the best proposal I could have ever asked for! His Story: Every now and then the thought would cross my mind, “how I do ask her”. I wanted to do something more then just asking her over dinner, but not quite as far as spelling her name out in a cloud of smoke from a crop duster, yet I couldn't come up with an idea that seemed appealing. We had talked about it casually and I asked her if she preferred private or public. As I recall, her only stipulations were to not be on television, or for it to happen when Jaws pops out of the water. I ended up buying the ring and sort of forcing myself to think of something......rather quickly, I might add. One day it hit me!!! Both Emily and I were going to be doing the Halloween shows at Hershey and as luck would have it, we were in different shows, on separate stages and staggered show times and yet, this worked out to be perfect. My frame work of the idea was to ask her on stage, but I had to figure out how to do it and make it comfortable. During one of the rehearsals I told the band and the writer/producer (who oversaw both mine and Emily's show) about my idea and he and every one else seemed to be on board.........still no exact plan of how to “do it”. I sent out an email on a Monday to everyone involved saying I would do it on Friday and that I was still open to suggestion. I arrived at the stage Friday at 5pm for call. Immediately members of the band started firing off ideas ( I hadn't even been there for two minutes). This meant a lot to me cause it said that they really were there to help me pull it off instead of just saying “this is your thing, you figure it out”, and to top it off, their ideas were better then mine!! This is how it went down........ We knew that Emily and some of her cast always came to see our last set, AND that they would get there half way into it. Obviously, I had The Proposal Her Story: During the month of October Keith and I worked for Hersheypark Entertainment for the two Halloween shows running. Keith was the drummer for the “Screaming Mummies” and I was the sound engineer for “Bunsen and the Burners”. It was a typical Friday show day, and my family had decided to come to the park to see Keith play since he was „so close to home and they didn‟t get to see him play very often.‟ Being oblivious to everything as I always am, I bought the story easy enough. And for some reason the fact that some of our (non-Hershey) mutual friends were also at the same show didn‟t tip me off any. In fact, there were several instances that occurred throughout the day that should have lead me to suspect something was going on, but I never let myself get as far as finishing a thought of suspicion and always just passed it off as someone being „weird‟ or „quirky‟. Our band got to the venue to watch the “Mummies‟” last performance of the night, but once we walked in, the lead singer, Robert, began making a fuss about us walking in late (which we did every night) and called me up on the state to represent as their “late leader”. I STILL had no idea what was going on as Robert distracted me while Keith came around the drum set to the front of the stage. people in her cast in on it to make sure she would be there no matter what. So when Emily and some of her cast came “parading in” during our show (which is very bad etiquette i might add....he-he..), our front man gave us the signal to “train wreck” the song we were smack in the middle of, and halt the show. The two singers (who double as actors) then began hurling accusations toward Emily and her cast (mainly Emily) about how “rude” it is to walk in the way they did. This led to pulling Emily up on stage, giving me the perfect opportunity to approach her, by surprise, with the ring in hand. It could not have worked out better. I had the best group of people in that band to make this happen, and I am truly grateful. Mirit Shenouda . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
