Introduction
Neighbourhood Renewal is a new approach that brings together the resources and ideas of residents, government, businesses and community groups to tackle
disadvantage in areas with concentrations of public housing.
To narrow the gap between some of the most disadvantaged communities in Victoria and the rest of the State, Neighbourhood Renewal is:
· increasing people’s pride and participation in the community
· enhancing housing and the physical environment
· lifting employment and learning opportunities and expanding local economies
· improving personal safety and reducing crime
· promoting health and wellbeing
· increasing access to services and improving government responsiveness (joined-up government).

To help members of the Regional Managers Forum make a decision about whole-of-government funding for priorities for disadvantaged communities in the [insert region

Neighbourhood Agreement
The Neighbourhood Agreement is a statement of partnership principles and an agreement between signatories to work in new ways to make [insert area] a better place to
live through implementing the strategies developed by stakeholders and residents, and contained in the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan.
A key partner in Neighbourhood Renewal is local government. To demonstrate this partnership the Regional Director of the Department of Human Services and the Chief
Executive Officer of [insert council name] have jointly presented these Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan priorities to the Regional Managers Forum.
Executive Summary
The executive summary is a synopsis of the [number] significant priorities requiring whole-of-government commitment to address disadvantage in [insert area].
Neighbourhood Renewal 12-month Action Plan
The Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan has been developed in conjunction with residents, government, community groups and other stakeholders to articulate the
priority areas for action for [insert name] over the next 12-months. Residents are actively involved in developing strategies for the Action Plan through being involved in
the Neighbourhood Renewal community governance structure, consultation processes and the Neighbourhood Renewal community survey. Via the survey, interviews are
conducted with 300 people in [insert name].
