How to convert your existing certificate for the ILP Exterior
Lighting Courses to an ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma.

Year(s) of Completion of Project (Module Four)
NB. If the project was completed some years after the Parts 1-3 modules,
the committee may feel it applicable that further relevant training is
required.

2004+
Generally this would be a straightforward conversion, subject to review by
the Education Committee – use the Conversion Application Form.

2001-2003
Send in your application accompanied by:

    • Your CPD records. We recommend that CPD records cover the time
      from successful completion of the final project to the present day, or
      an absolute minimum period of two years to date.
    • Evidence of updating training on EN13201 / BS5489 c/w syllabus /
      course content
    • Evidence of updating training on health & safety c/w syllabus / course
      content.

The Education Committee will examine these records to ensure that you have
kept up to date with lighting developments, particularly with EN13201 and
Health & Safety. The committee will either approve the application or advise
if any further training is required.

Prior to 2001
You will be required to attend an EN13201 & BS5489 workshop. If you have
attended an ILP CEN Workshop this is acceptable, please include the date
you attended with your Conversion Application Form. Workshops organised
by other organisations may also be acceptable, you should include full details
of the syllabus with your Conversion Application Form and it will be
considered by the Education Committee.

You will also be required to demonstrate that you are up to date with Health
and Safety.
Therefore send in your application accompanied by:

The ILP will be running workshops on EN13201&BS5489, and Health and
Safety. We will open a list of interested participants and make arrangements
for the workshops when there is enough demand.

 • Original certificate. (NB. The ILP advises that you keep a
    photocopy of your certificate.)
 • Cheque for £25 + VAT made payable to the Institution of Lighting
    Professionals. (This covers the administration costs involved.)
 • Evidence of training and CPD as required in the notes for guidance
    above.
