                    The scope of the permit and associated rules is defined by the following risk criteria:
                    Parameter 1         Permitted activities - the discharge of water from heating or cooling use, where the only change is the temperature.
                    Parameter 2         Temperature change between inlet and outlet must be less than 8 degrees Celsius
                    Parameter 3         The discharge must be to the same water body from which the water was abstracted, located to ensure maximum dilution in the receiving water and not within 200
                                        metres of another cooling or heating discharge.

                    Parameter 4         The temperature of the discharge at the outlet must not exceed twenty five degrees Celsius and the volume of the discharge must be less than 1000 cubic metres
                                        per day.
                    Parameter 5         The total daily volume of the discharge shall not exceed 25% of the total daily flow in the receiving water body
                    Parameter 6         The discharge shall not be made within 500 metres upstream from the nearest boundary of a designated shellfish water, European Site, Ramsar site, Site of
                                        Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), National Nature Reserve, Local Nature Reserve or any body of water identified as containing a Protected Species or within 100m
                                        from a Local Wildlife site
