Sharing the Joys

Congratulations to Senator Bruce Wilson #41210 and wife, Marj, on the birth of twin grandchildren, Madelyn
(Maddie) and Gavin Strathmann on June 21. Little Maddie had some complications that kept her in the hospital
until July 14 but she is home now.

New Jersey
Congratulations to Senator Bob Bracale #41191 and wife, Eileen, on the birth of their grandson, Jacob Michael
Weschke. Little Jacob is 21 inches and weighed in at 8 lb 13 oz.

North Carolina
Congratulations to Senators Kathy #63632 and Daryl #63633 McNair on the birth of their daughter, Olivia Nicole
McNair, on August 23. Little Olivia weighed in at 8 lb 14 oz. Congratulations can be sent to the McNairs at 5615

Sharing the Prayers

Senator Ed Bulger #14770 has been in declining health for the past month and is currently in hospice care. His wife,
Nancy, has been told that it is probably a matter of days. Please keep Nancy and the family in your prayers.

Membership Information Services Manager Johnny Swank #44479 is recovering from gall bladder surgery he had

Senator Ray Hollingsworth #48075 is recovering from surgery

It was reported in the 8/15 E-News that Senator 44676 Lou Wanex was recovering from surgery to repair a badly
broken ankle. As it turns out, Lou lost the foot on that leg. Get well wishes can be sent to Lou at Talbot House,

Senator #38041 Dennis Kester, Treasurer of the Michigan Senate has been in and out of the hospital, most recently
with kidney stones. He is in long term care at Vibra Hospital, Room 553, 26400 W. Outer Drive, Lincoln Park, MI

Senator Lloyd Mueller #57186 will be undergoing surgery on September 3 to remove a polyp and part of his colon.
Lloyd and wife, Marilyn #51429 would appreciate your prayers for a good outcome and speedy recovery.

JoAnn Kincaid, wife of Senator #47924 Bob has recently undergone cancer surgery. Get well wishes can be sent to

Albert Alessandra, father of Senator Mary Alessandra-Cook #52897 and father-in-law of husband Bill Cook, passed

Celebrating the Lives of Senators

His widow, Maria has informed us that Senator John C. Page #22116 passed away on February 4, 2009.

We learned of the following Senator’s passing from family members when raffle communications were sent
out. Although their loss is not necessarily recent, these members of our Senate family should be
memorialized by inclusion in this report.

Well now that summer is over and the kids are back to school, it’s time to buckle down and sell your Presidential
Raffle Tickets. All ticket stubs turned in at the Party in Pittsburgh (September 24th -27, 2009) and those tickets that
are purchased there will be eligible for the prize drawing that will take place at the board meeting. So sell those
tickets and bring the stubs with you to the meeting.
Also, if you have not submitted a prize for the year end drawing, get together with three or four friends and chip in
for $100 gift card. If your state organization has not contacted our prizes chairman, Pam Padgett,
( about their prize donation please do so ASAP so she can plan accordingly.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Pittsburgh.

Presidential Raffle Chairman

The U.S. JCI Senate Foundation members have decided to extend the Used Book Sale in Pittsburgh at the Fall Board
meeting, September 23-25. The Sale will be held in the foyer of the Hospitality Room.
Individuals may donate books that are in good condition and in return will get a donation letter for tax purposes.
The books will be sold for $1.00 each. Books of almost every classification will be accepted, except of a risqué
All money will be given to the US JCI Foundation. A donation credit will be given toward your Foundation
membership if $50.00 or more is spent for books.

As before, spread the word about the BOOK SALE.
